I am using the Diablosport Intune and I understand it's not the best for datalogging, but I went out and did a 1000RPM to redline WOT run and data logged. I sent the file to Bama support to see if they could revise my tune to give me a little more performance and some more engine braking if that's even possible, but I want to make sure I'm safe. I was only trapping 113mph last night at the drags and I was expecting more (of course it was my first time drag racing in over 10 years). I noticed some knock sensor activity on the log even though I can't detect anything when I'm driving it. As you can see, full throttle actually starts a little after the 2:08 mark. Another thing you can see is that I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to tuning as I'm extreme noob to this :thud: Thanks

I would start off by fixing the knock. It should have ZERO knock once the car is in gear at a constant speed, shifting gears can cause driveline shock and induce small amounts of false knock. Its hard to tell when its coming in as the RPM overlay is not clear (to me?) Try different gas stations and check it out. No need to bang the limiter just find out the range its knocking in and go from there.

Shaun from AED wouldn't even tune my car until I got the knock situation squared away. Mine turned out to be fuel related (alot of times it is). I run 76 exclusively and haven't seen knock in any of my logs in 12 months.

Lambda commanded is...? Not sure how to read this as I've only worked with my SCT software! Someone else will definitely help you out.

I talked to Ryan at Bama and he says what I'm seeing is added timing, guess I read it wrong. Now that I look at it, it makes sense. I just wish they could add more engine braking

I don't believe that. See the positive knock highlighted below? If that's adding timing, then the -30 to the left is knock? Doesn't sound right to me. Ask Bama again. IMO, get a tune somewhere else.

Ive tried 3 different tuners and all 3 tunes have the same amount of knock. Ive also tried several different gas stations. Ive been tuned like this for 40k and lots of wot passes. No issues yet.

if you dont have oil separators at least on the passenger side that will cause knock. The amount of oil sucked in can lower the effective octane levels

Just spying on this thread since I am learning about datalogging also. Good to know I have to make the oil sep number 1 on my next purchase

It's interesting that you say passenger. On my car the passenger side connector out of the valve cover was blue, and had a PCV check valve in it. When I took it apart, the check valve look opposite of what I would expect. The valve looked like it closed when the pressure in the motor was high enough, not the other way around. I ended up taking all of it out as I run breathers.

Yes the passenger gets the oil. I pull a couple table spoons every couple thousand miles. Never seen any on the driver's side one.

I am going through a new tune and having knock issues. The data log I've done shows no knock at partial throttle from 2k rpm to 5k rpm. It's a WOT from 2k rpm to 7k rpm that I show a positive knock. AED has told me to run different gas as for almost 2 decades I've run Chevron. I ran the tank to almost empty and yesterday filled up with Costco premium. Here in Oregon we can usually only get 91 Octane and it has a minimum of 15% ethanol.........sometimes more. After driving for 25/30 miles I noticed a big difference in how smooth the throttle felt and the acceleration and throttle response was much improved. I'm going to run a small road trip of 200 miles today and do some data logging after I get back. If that doesn't take car of the knocking issue I'll run some GT100 through it.
I bought my car with 2700 miles and it had an CAI with SCT tuner....and a 91 generic tune in it. It now has 8400 miles and the car just hasn't seemed very responsive in past couple of months. I have checked the plugs and everything is as it should be although with a magnifying glass you can see some minute pitting from detonation.................which further gives indication of bad gas. I'll let you know what happens.
I have had an oil catch can on the car for over 4000 miles and I do pull out a teaspoon or so every couple of hundred miles. The drivers side is where the PCV system intakes the air (if you see oil on this side you have some issues) and the passenger side recirculates it from the valve cover into the intake......................yes this can dilute the intake charge but not enough to cause knock..............unless you've got a serious issue.

Have you done anything with your exhaust? AED has a video on youtube about false knock issues being the exhaust clamps on aftermarket exhaust hitting the the car. You just need to adjust the clamp so the bolt does not hit.

On my 2014 I noticed the PCV didn't seem to seal either way. In other words whether I had a vacuum or pressure on the end of the valve that faces into the valvecover it still was open(freeflowing). So After installing the breathers just left it stock. Never took the ball out.
