alright lets not take this to the pitstop because i would like to see everyones very different opinions on what they think is the best way to break it in.... and then i want to see who's engine lasts the longest!!!! haha

Heat cycles for about 200 miles drop oil and onto the dyno. Running fine so far 3500 miles to date.

yeah i know theres more threads on this topic than the "what color valve covers" topic.

buuut, i DO wanna see people think they know whats best, then i two months see a thread with holes in blocks...

my opinion on breaking in a SB: drive it like you stole it... when you break something, its then considered "broken in" :clap:

That Mototune method is the one I used for my old Turbo DSM and it worked like a charm. 180psi compression across the board after 500 miles. Shit I took that beast to the track the night after I put the new shortblock in it and ran it 3 times, had maybe 75 miles on it by then.

Ran for another 20,000 miles at 23psi ~400whp with me beating on it everyday with no ill effects. Had an accident that totalled the car a few years later but I am confident it wouldve lasted MUCH longer.
