I bet a stock TC automatic won't have as much risk since we can't make as large a shock to the driveline as a manual.

Bingo.
On a stock motor '13, would a che brace be more than enough for now?
Absolutely.

Just sent payment for a CHE Axle Brace...dying to get it, so I can get out and have some fun!
Any risk of boiling the fluid if you don't drain it first before welding?

Aren't you supposed to wrap the weld to keep it from cooling too quickly?
And you welded yours just on the car? On a 4-post lift or a drive on?
He said jack stands. He's the man.

My bad, in that case:
Stands on the axle or on the frame?
Taking the car in to get tubes welded and che brace put in, can't wait until its done!
What? You don't need both.
Better safe than sorry right? Being that I have a stick car, I plan to race a decent amount, and I am a worry wart when it comes to weak points in the rearend, plus in other cars I have broke a few already...just want to keep it from breaking as much as possible
