I ordered the 3.4" pulley. Beefcake said my Boss should be putting down around 670 with that setup. I still need to work out the tune with the tuner though. No sure if I'll be able to do 91 octane or if I'll have to Torco it up to 105. Either way works for me.

You'll never hit 105 octane with Torco. I used to mix 32oz of Torco with 5 gallons of 93 and after having it tested several times the most I ever got out of that mixture was 100. Which I was told was the max I could get out of it.

I think it takes 2 bottles for 10 gallons. Torco has a mixing chart on their website for 91 and 93 for different octanes

Edit: I just went and checked the chart for 93 octane. If the chart was right, your mixture should've been off the charts. Hmm maybe I'll have to check into it. Thanks for the heads up!

I know what Torco's charts say but they are wrong. With 25+ lbs of boost on my previous car (Whippled Mach 1) and not wanting to run race gas I got heavily involved as did my tuner in Torco. Through extensive testing we could only get 99-100 octane, tops. Do a search on Modular Fords and others came to the same conclusion. Still I became a heavy believer in Torco.

Yeah that would be pretty bad for me to have a tune for 105, thinking I'm running on 105 but really be at 98 or so. Maybe I'll just have them give me a conservative tune for premium pump gas and order a drum of race gas for track days.

A couple of my friends say stay away from the paxton and procharger etc.. because they are a pain in the ass to install, and you have to hack the bumper up to do it. I have a lot of people pushing the roush blower but I dont think it can make the power that I want.

the initial lund tune will be conservative,

you'll be very happy with the setup,, hands down the best bang for the buck!!!

Under no circumstance should you open the preassembled bracket. What a pain! I had no choice because the original vortech bracketry was faulty.

You won't be disappointed at all. Especially when some coyote with a roots type pulls up and you pull on him (and he's spent quite a bit more).

I didn't have to open mine but I had to move a pulley to a different spot as they assembled it incorrectly.

Honest question:

If I want to put a blower on a car meant for the street (and not track), where drivability and torque matter more, what are the pros of the Paxton over a twin screw such as the Roush TVS?

Other than the fact I won't have to grind the timing cover . . .

The only benefits IMO would be cost and no grinding.

.. the grinding is not bad at all.

The PD cars will make more power and torque throughout the curve. The peaks are held back from both types of blower based on the rest of the engine's internals so that's essentially a wash. You also don't need a converter with a PD blower if you're an auto where as the Centri style benefits greatly from one.

i am running a 3.55 with a 30" tall tire

if you have a 3.15 in the car, i would leave it for now and see how it does.

these seem to do well on the stock gear

beefcake - Do you agree that a Centri auto car doesn't need an aftermarket torque converter?
