What about just buying an Aluminator then? It's only a little more and comes complete. Labor is just simply pulling/reinstalling the motor and all the other crap.

Paul.

True but some people dont want the 9.5:1 compression. Specifically if running e85 or even racegas can run a little higher or stock compression

Your mom loves 9.5:1 compression... BOOM POW!

You walked right into that one. ;-)

most companies, Manley,Ross,Diamond,Livernois only go as high as 11.5:1 for compression. but even that on some race gas or e85 is going to result into good power gains not only from the fuel but the extea .5 point compression!

The whole 12:1 etc is a joke...

Unless you're na I don't see the need for high cr,like that especially w this blower beefcake already proved it and from my experience the 9.5:1 w the extra boost from this blower (Paxton of course) turned the car into a monster I felt the higher cr and less boost made the car feel really lazy like there wasn't a power adder there which of course was due to the less amount of boost but 15psi on stock cr would'nt work either since 9-10 psi didn't lol..just my opinion ...

Im at 11lbs. Others have oushed 14lbs in stock engine. I think its combo of tune and geat killing them. I will soon see how 13lbs or so will do. Im over a year and making 640-713whp on stock engine. But will be easy on 93. Race tune will have ms109 mixed in.

Beef is now at 10 or 10.5:1. Made more power and went faster. :)

In the end im doing a built engine. I know its a matter of time as I push. I will be doing 10.5:1 more then likely.

Nope..just build. For basically same orice can build stronger. Cheapest I found boss short block is about 2900. Thrn you have to install

I was told about 6500-7000 for parts labor to do built short block.

That seems a bit expensive on the labor side of things. Is that labor of them pulling motor, building and re-installing?

I was going to pull the motor, disassemble, have a machine shop prep block and balance assembly.

I think that's a very fair quote...I've seen higher. All in all I'm going 11:1 alumiinator. I know I could build better but I'm impatient(I know with building my car will be down a while) and I figure since they have billet gears in them for me its a no brainer...I know he's on the lower comp one but coffeeman has been beating the balls of his for a while.

Yeah they all have cj billet gears now. The 11:1 aluminator is the n/a one but I know of at least three cars running it with boost. I know all the advantages n disadvantages but I'd rather keep the compression and not spin my blower to high hell. I've discussed it with JPC n they like the idea Lol.

Interesting. What differences on rods pistons from the two?
