Ok, got it...a no slip pulley is a different animal than Vortech's pullies...but I still don't see the need for a 3.4 and a 3.33 pulley....are they that much different with regard to boost/power?

Wait, when did they start offering a 3.40 pulley? I could have sworn that wasn't there a week ago when I was looking.

I'm running a 3.60 on stock block w/ V2 HO and was told by Justin at VMP to go with the 3.33 instead of the 3.48 I had sitting on the shelf. Still wondering if that's going to be too much boost. I'm currently just clipping 8 with my aftercooler and stock manifolds.

My shop also recommended the 3.33, but I wanted to play it a little bit safe because I have the powerpipe too and the 3.4 fit the bill.

For what it's worth, my car made 10.02 lbs of boost on a 95 degree ambient day. I have a Vortech HO kit with the 3.6" pulley that came with the kit. The car put down 474/412 to the tires. I've been tempted to pulley down or add delete plates, but I am running close to the limits of the block and 39 lb injectors.

Sounds about right. I ran out of injector at your power level.

By the way, these blocks are awesome and can handle nasty horsepower, so I wouldn't worry about the block itself. I'm sure you meant the short block, meaning rods, pistons, etc., which is completely true. I wouldn't push it past where you are now on the stock bottom end.

What elevation are you at? With the exact same setup I can only pull 8. Boost shouldn't be temp dependent too much should it?

Mine is only 7-8 too. I have a 3.4 pulley but I have a bigger intercooler than the paxton air to air one and I have long tube headers, both of them should decrease boost 1-2 psi. According to most peoples mods I should be at around 10-11.

Yep, I meant short block. The 05 block is really really strong. The rods and pistons are another story.

There is a company called www.siliconeintakes.com that sells silicone hose and joiners. All you need to make an intake is 1- 4inch 90, 1-4 inch 45, 1- 4 inch joiner, and 4 T clamps. Price is around 60 dollars. You will need to convert to blow though mass air. and convert to vent to atmosphere blow off. Tune needed to get the most out of the change.

Is this all I need to get?

What size filter works the best?

Couldn't I get a slot cut into the pipe and get the MAF holes tapped into it? Or have it welded on?

Has anyone with the aftercooler switched to a blow thru and if so where did you put it since there is not much room?

I ordered the pipe, MAF flange and coupler last night, will wait to see how it comes together before getting a filter.

has anyone tried using the paxton stock 180 degree pipe to make this work? I was gonna cut it in the middle of the 180 turn. the piece left over with the short radius 90 and long leg to the s/c inlet and the equal length 90 off the long leg of the other 90. looked at for a few minutes and looks like it will work. Should I go for it or not lol

it works, just not how I thought it would lol. The short 90 went to the blower and the long 90 goes to short 90. here are some pics. I drilled a 1/2" hole on the bottom side of the the short 90 and screwed in the brass fitting for the vale cover suction to the intake. I need to get another seperator so i don't get oil in the blower inlet. i had to cut a piece off the radiator cover. it's right above the little hose connect from the overflow resevoir. you can see it in pic #2

this could possibly save some people some money. instead of buy ing all the fancy couplings and pipe lol

p.s. I have stock hood on right now and it closes with no issues

Hmmm...think I will try this with the Vortech, can't see what it won't work since they use the same intake piping.
