i tapped mine like hellion said take a punch knock the shit out of it and then take the tap and put grease on it and tap away. i have done several on 3 kits like this and my hellion kit also. i have never had a problem make sure to coat it good with grease.

I had to do it on my 97 when I installed the Vortech, it is a bit of a shock to get over but if Jeremy was ok with us taking a grinder, cut off wheel and sawzaw to his hood tapping the oil pan should be nothing!

Another question the turbo housing is tapped for an air fitting. I measured it and it was 3/8" what kind of fitting do i need so i can run a vac line

here is what i would do though. just get a 3/8 plug and plug it. then get the vacuum/boost from the intake mani, because that is your true boost level. that is what is going into the motor. that is what i did. just t tap into the vacuum line at the driver side fuel rail.

3/8" OD of the hole should be 1/8" npt, so you should just need a 1/8" npt to 1/4" barb fitting for the 6mm vacuum line.

get your boost gauge reading and BOV signal from the manifold after the throttle body. get your wastegate signal from the turbo housing....stronger signal and more direct so it will react quicker ans be more accurate with the TB open or closed. looks like a 1/8th inch threaded side, the barb side just depends on what size vac hose your running.....if you already have the boost controller, match it up to the fitting on the boost controller.

? the outer diameter of a hole is the same as the inner diameter..its a hole.. its 3/8"

So 1/4" barb will fit better with 6mm vac line, thanks.

Looks like i need a 3/8 npt to 1/4 barb.

well almost right. it makes it more accurate and makes it hit harder from the mani like i said a few post ago. i have done it both ways and off the mani is the best.

Im going to run this tap off the turbo to the wastgate as willy suggested and im already running my boost gauge and eboost2 off the manifold(vac hose to fuel rail sensor)

Quick update things are going good. I will have the details later tonight.
Big snag was instructions call for 3/8 threads 3/8" tap so i go to do it and notice the drain connector is alot bigger, its more like 1/2" threads. So i gota go get the right size tap.

i used a 3/4 punch (couldnt find a size on the tap but i assume 1/2npt) and a 1/2npt threaded side-5/8 barbed side for the oil drian with 5/8 hose.

So you didnt actually tap it you just let the threads on the connector thread itself into the pan, thats what i might have to do, i got a 1/2" tap now put the threads on the connector look a bit bigger than than 1/2". Fuck it somethings gonna give. lol
