I tried searching, but got conflicting answers.

Can you drop the trans to do a clutch with long tubes? My searches have said No, Yes, And maybe depending on brand.

The Car is a 2005 GT 5 speed, the headers are boost brothers.
I'm running a DOB kit on the stock clutch, so far its holding, but i dont want to install the longtubes yet if i cant do a clutch with them installed.

Thanks for your input!

I've got Borla LT's and it's not a problem to r&r the tranny.

IIRC those Boost Brothers headers are JBA clones so the transmission should clear them.

Getting to the top back starter bolt might be a beech with that one tube they bring down though.

As far as getting the top 2 bolts out, I string several extensions together [with a couple being the wobble type to get some angle in there] and go over the top of the transmission with a 13mm universal and stick my arm up in there and guide the socket onto the bolts.

Also, you'll want to use a cheap baster to pull the fluid out of the master cylinder to keep you from getting a full on brake fluid facial when you pop the line of the slave cylinder.

If they are clones of the JBAs, you'll be fine. As far as the fluid in the face goes, my clutch kit came with a little plug to put on the clutch line. Remove it with a rag and get the plug in quickly and you'll be mess free!

The trans cleared my MAC 1 3/4 long tubes but I ended up taking a die grinder to those 2 ears going back in, it went back in alot easier than it came out.

I just capped my clutch line with the cap that comes with the new slave. Works great sat for 3 months and only dripped a little. A vacuum plug etc would work as well.

Like said starter may be a pain to get out that about it.

Definitely take off the two tabs. I totally forgot about that but it makes a world of different
