Hello.
I ran a base-line run down the local 1/4 mile track a few weeks ago with a best time of 13.6 at 100 mph, 2.09 0-60', 8.89sec at the 1/8... Not horrible, but I had hoped for better.
The mods at the time were 06 GT (auto), 373'3, Bamatune performance 91 tune, C&L intake, & frpp Stingers (No gains from that i don't think, but they sound cool...LOL). I also made the run on GT500 take-off tires and wheels. Believe it or not they really hooked with zero wheel spin. I was impressed given that everyone was spinning that night on a slick track.

Now, I am installing a TCI streetfighter transmission (not the super), TCI 3000 stall converter (I got a great package deal), and a Coast Alum 1-piece driveshaft and BMR LCA's. I will also try a different 91 tune, I have both the race and torque tunes from Bama.

I plan to mount some DR's on my stock 17" rims, but I don't know what will fit at this point. Need to do some more research on that.

I lost 3rd gear in my stock trans, so I thought this was a reasonable way to go.

Think I will gain anything other than an empty checkbook???

Thanks...Kevin

M/T (Mickey Thompson) has tires that will fit the stock 17" rims. I use (I think) 275/45-17 ET street radials on stock GT 17x8 rims. They helped traction a lot!
With the higher stall, you'll probably need the extra traction.

I run an automatic and 373's, too, and the DRs work very nicely. I will be trying my new 3000 stall TC next time at the track :)

I think you should see a solid .5 pick up if you can duplicate traction from last time out, and air quality is the same or similar. my experience so far with these cars and "e-mail" tunes is that they are extremely reactive to air quality. good luck, it should be money well spent.

1/2 a second would be HUGE. I think I can duplicate traction or better with some DR's. i'm a little poor right now, so who knows when I will be able to get them or even get another chance to run down the track.
The local track hosts some All-Night drags every once in a while, I may try to make the next one in July.
