I was thinking maybe track officials needed to be able to access the trunk for the fuel cell and oil tank. Not sure if they even require something like that.

Well, the car is licensed and insured so I do still drive it on the street. But technically, it's not street legal because it no longer has any emissions equipment, horn, or turn signals. The 100 decibels at 60 mph doesn't help much either. I street drive it with slicks on it, so they could give me list of defective equipment tickets. Even though I have been pulled over in it, one of the police officers said he was excited to check the vin# to see if it was a FR500S. The others just wanted to make sure that it was insured and check the car out. My age probably has something to do with the police leaving me alone. At times, being 50 has it's advantages.

Taking it over to get wrapped today. I should have it back on Wednesday and then I can put it back together again.

The wrap is getting close to being done. At the last minute Seibon came through with free carbon fiber doors, trunk, and a hood. So, this put me behind schedule. The wrap guy cut my numbers out of the door wrap so that my car numbers are the carbon door material. He still has to outline the numbers in yellow, put the stripes on the roof, wrap the rockers and rear valance.

Even though my OEM doors were completely gutted, the Seibon doors were 48lbs lighter for the pair.

air cleaner clears the hood or will you have to modify it?

I will have to build something that seals to the hood and to the firewall.

I probably won't have the car back until tomorrow night. Then I have to build an air cleaner, repaint the cage, install the new Whiteline UCA, add two more front splitter struts, install the rear wing, detail the engine compartment and undercarriage, drain the water out of the engine and install antifreeze so the water doesn't freeze on the way through center Nevada. And lastly, grease the wheel bearings on my trailer. I leave for SEMA Saturday at 5:00 A.M. so I am going to be working late nights to get it done.
