I just finished removing the APR Performance 2.5" splitter and replaced it with an APR Performance 5" splitter. I also decided to block off the lower grill with the intent of improving the aerodynamics. This should help prevent unwanted air... under the chassis . I also believe that blocking off the lower grill will allow the splitter to work even that much better. I still need to paint or wrap the aluminum block off plate. However, that can wait until Monday.

As soon as the weather warms up a little, I will be renting Pacific Raceways so I can get everything dialed in before the first race.

That sounds really cool.

For SEMA, we had a very short filter on the car that wouldn't have functioned very well on race day. In order to install a taller correct air filter element in the air box, I had to do a little trimming to the Seibon carbon fiber hood. Doing this to this awesome hood was a little painful. However, it was necessary in order to let the engine breath properly and I think it turned out nice. Now, I have a Wix racing filter that is rated at 1000+ cfm of flow.

I used the Osha approved method of holding my breath while using the safety squint.

That looks really good. I actually didn't notice the pictures were of the hood already cut. I was scrolling down looking for pictures of a cut up hood with the filter sticking through at first

PRB Machining is a welcome addition to the family of great sponsors that are supporting me for the 2014 race season. If anyone is looking for an ABS delete Manifold, Phil at PRB Machining is the man! Some of his ABS delete manifolds have integrated line locks too.

Having only two hood pins made me a little nervous so I added two more. Last year while entering the front straight, I used to wonder if my hood was going to fly up. I can rest easy now.

I have signed into a sponsorship/marketing agreement with Summit Racing Equipment for the 2014 season. I couldn't be happier with this partnership and their interest in being part of the team. They already sell and represent most of the companies that are sponsoring me. So, they feel this is a very good fit for them and it certainly helps me out too.

To start with, they will be providing all of the required safety equipment that I need, and it's an open ended agreement for future support. So far, I have received a new Hans device, Sparco 3-2A/5 fire suit, and a Safecraft RS series fire suppression system with the Dupont FE36 agent. More items should arrive next week.
