i suppose that would depend on your combination...not only does methanol injection cool the intake charge (in boosted applications) but its also an "octane booster" from what i understand. so if you were running a NA combo on the ragged edge and wanted to run as much timing as possible on pump gas, perhaps it wouldnt be a waste of time.

i have some experience with this. here is my opinion, i would say on a car like ours with a plastic intake mani, i would say no, its a waste of time. but my buddy got a kit for $100 from his friend and he is getting procharged next year anyway so he decided to give it a go. as u know the 01 cobras have metal intakes. when it was 60* or colder, it didnt help the car at all, but he would gain on the top end when it was hotter. it basically kept the car more consistent as the air got hotter. not huge gains but it did gain. hope this helps.

maybe with boost, but NA our cars dont need over 30* and u can run that on pump gas. remember there is a point where more timing will start making less power.

I don't think methanol is going to be beneficial unless you're seriously knock limited.

i did it 3 years ago and it didn't help at all. just no need for it. intake doesn't really get that hot and you should be able to run 36degrees or more timing with 93 octane n/a anyway. i took it off and it's sitting in the cabinet waiting to go on a 5.0 turbo car i'm building for a friend.
