Stock cap is check valved so it can suck air in but no leaks out so it gets pressurized, a pressure transducer gets that info to the pcm and then the pcm duty cycles the purge valve to relieve that pressure by calibrated amounts at certain engine conditions.
The thing is this, If I am not wrong, when you put a vent into the filler neck but do not change the cap you basically had not changed a thing.
Hey guys I was just reading threw this thread fill free to chim in if you can help my car since I did my bulid smells like gas fumes in side the car and wanted to know if the evap system had any thing to do with it
