Thanks for posting this. I'm still NA, but if I ever do go FI, this is good info to know.

Hmmmmm....interesting. I still run stock mufflers without cats because I can't stand the sound of anything louder. Haven't had a muffler problem but I do blow the exhaust apart at the x pipe every once in awhile at the track......it's tack welded together now.

2-step for the launch off the trans brake.

may just want to throw a scope in to see how they are holding up.

if you noticed the pics I posted above, that happened with the prior owner, using a 2 step and WOT box.

I checked them out before I put this last engine in and they still are fine.

For what I do I really should just put a set of header mufflers on it, I know I am giving up some power by running the full exhaust but with my hearing the way it is I prefer the mufflers.

I have been kicking around getting the local exhaust shop to bend me up a set of muffler deletes that way at least the noise is still behind me......of course then my neighbors will really love me...lol

Understood Lee, I'm surprised mine have never said anything to me, 1 7/8" headers, o/r X, 3" Magnaflow Cat back to straight throughs, I fire it up at 7 am Sunday am.... I keep expecting a comment sometime but after 2 plus years... none.

Marc - do you know how long those were on the car?

About 6 months and 500 miles. He starts it and moves it in and out of his shop but doesn't warm it up. I'm pretty sure that caused a condensation issue which lead to the rust problem.

Holy Shit! 6 months, I was expecting something more like 4-6 years, 100% agree on the causality.

After installing my m90 the car sounded like shit with the Flowmasters. Sounded like the increase exhaust gases were overpowering the mufflers. Ditched them for a flow thru design, had no idea this could happen. That's crazy.

Good catch. Could have been an 800 hp loss pretty quick.

A long time ago when I had the whipple, a cat starting coming apart so I just hollowed them out.

Sounds like Darren should be checking his mufflers soon.
