Went to the track again last night, and let my car cool for about an hour hoping that I'd be able to cut a 12.5, maybe even a 12.4. Made consistent 12.6 passes after that, but I knew I still wasn't launching right. I kept cutting 2.0x 60ft's on my m/t e/t streets! (Shitty, I know) So after 1 1/2 hours of waiting for them to clean up something off the track, I went again. Failed and missed 2nd!! Pulled a 12.8.

. They started closing up the track and I begged for another pass. They said ok and let me go one more time. Did a nice burnout, raised the rpm's to about 5000 and slipped the clutch. Nice launch, cut a 1.96 and nailed every shift. I knew I had a good run. As I made the turn to go get my slip, my gf called me up. At first I didn't understand what she was saying, but than I heard "F*ck yea! 12.3!!!" I was extremely happy because I knew I had gotten a much better launch and timed it right. I know my car can do 11's, but I'm still working on seat time. So far, every time I've gone out I've gotten better and improved my times. Anyway, here's the slip. Sorry for the long story!

I have a video, but my video camera runs off a tape and I don't know how to get it on the computer. So, this will have to do for now

Congrats man... I'm sure thats a great feeling

Yes it sure is! I'm really happy with myself because I've been the problem. The car can go 11's with a great driver. By going every other week and seeing improvements every time I go, it makes me feel great because I'm getting better. Maybe 11's next time... :highfive:

Exactly. Practice makes perfect. I wish I had a 1/4 mile track in my backyard so I can practice all day long :)

Gzmo - congrats on the PB. One question, why are you slipping the clutch with ET Streets?

It's what I've been told to do with 17" e/t's. Should I be dumping it?

That is also soon to come. Trying to find a nice used set with nice tires. Than I'll be doing better!

Good job, any time at the track is great time!

Hell yea. I love every second of it.

I would... I dump on a 265/40/18, get 1.61-1.75 60's all day long

If your running et streets you need to dump the clutch lol. just be carful how high in the RPM's you dump it. At your power levels the trany may not like that :chainsaw:

N/A you can dump at 6K on et streets, I pulled a 1.62 doing it
