Supposedly it comes off fairly easily though ... some of the reviewers weren't happy about that since they had painted interior windows and they wanted it to last ... I think I'm gonna be happy about that when I clean it all off and do a regular 35%-20% window tint on there.
Gonna do a mini blind on the center door's window.
Do the mirror finish tint. That would look damn good.

That DOES look good. They actually make a spray that mimics the mirror finish too, maybe I'll try it on the outside of one of these windows that now look like ass, lol ....
Yesterday we marked off where the new driveway will be, so the construction guys will know where to dig on Tuesday when the whole new-driveway/new-lawn project takes off.
I also started shaving down the window trim on the sides of the window openings, since the trim was sticking out beyond the drywall, in some places as much as about 3/8"
The bottom of this pic shows how much I have to sand down in some spots:

New to the streets
Just read through the whole thing from start to finish! Definitely gonna be following this. My dad and I built a shed and turned it into a mini bar. Used craiglist to get most of the parts used and cut back on money. I will post a picture of it later when I am not working oh so hard.

Today I went over to the house, finished sanding down the window trim so it's all flush with the drywall, then primed all the walls and ceiling in the sunroom:
Then I went outside and started digging the trench needed from the generator to the house, the spot where the 120-gallon bottle will sit, then from that spot to another spot where the pipe will enter the house in the basement.
Got about 8 feet dug today, only about 2 of it being the required 24" depth.
Finding lots of rocks, which really sucks to try to dig through.

Rent a trencher. Will be a lot faster.

This was me being somewhat bored and wanting to see what it was like to do it by hand, using the $30 trenching shovel, and maybe saving the $220 it will cost for the power trencher.
Today a buddy (ex-contractor) came over and we started tiling the bathroom tub walls.
I was mostly cutting the tile, he was setting it.
Got this far done before we got wiped out and decided to call it a day:
Meanwhile, my GF sanded down and primed all the window trim in the sunroom. Still need to cut in with a brush in some areas, but really starting to love the look of this room, can't wait to get it fully painted
Tomorrow at 7AM the excavators, dump trucks, and God knows what else, is coming over and starting the front lawn makeover and the driveway replacement.

So, yesterday was a HUGE day for the property.
7:20 the first of the machinery showed up, an excavator and a dump truck, guy jumps in the excavator, drives it off the trailer straight onto the front lawn and starts tearing it up, pulling stumps left and right, making a huge trench from the back right side of the house all the way across the front lawn and dumping over into a vernal pool that's on the left, on the other side of the driveway.
They laid in a drainage pipe, installed in such a way that it will take away the water from the gutter drain, and will also take away water from below the foundation, so the sump pump should no longer ever have to work anymore, and will dump all the water into the vernal pool so it can do its job.
Lots of rocks in the way, ledge that had to be jack-hammered too, the pipe was then covered in crushed stone, then a fabric cover to protect the stone from the sand that covered that, then dirt/fill to cover it all up, then fresh sand, then the final step, loom.
All nicely graded, and all the way to the right side property line, making the front lawn now awesome and HUGE.
They also dug up the trench I needed dug for the generator propane/electrical piping, and left me a bunch of sand and loom to cover it all up when done.
Also, old driveway was pulled/removed/discarded (nice to find that it was laid right on top of dirt without any proper rock bed under it), new driveway area widened and prepped, and they also removed an old cement block that was to the right of the garage doors and starting to lean over from the pressure behind it, and they dug back a bit so that once we install the new wall we need to buy/build, we can have the back filled in properly.
Last but not least, they also buried another 4" perforated pipe at the end of the driveway, this pipe taking the water away from the gutter drain from that side of the house and dumping it into the side vernal pool also.
This eliminated having a long drain gutter to take the water away from the garage door area.
Unfortunately, the only true "before" pics I have are from the winter and there's snow everywhere, but still gives a great idea of how far we've come with this front yard and the front look of the house:

And the after, as it was at 8PM last night:
New driveway is to be poured this Thursday (tomorrow) or Monday/Tuesday next week, depending on when we get the stairs started and the new retaining wall started/built.

They brought the big boy toys! Sometimes the guys with the big equipment may seem expensive until you see just how much they can accomplish. Good decision getting guys with the right tools for the job.
Oh yeah, they were there 13 hours, a long day for sure, but between the huge rocks, ledge and other things to fight, they were prepared and got the job done in one day.
To our surprise, we got hydroseeded this morning.
Didn't think it was scheduled till tonight.
So we've had the sprinklers on most of the afternoon, hoping that we see a green lawn soon

My GF and I went and bought the new stone for the new retaining wall and new steps, and it was all delivered this afternoon:
She then went and did a bunch of yardwork, cleaning up flower beds, getting rid of overgrown plants and such:
Yeah, we still might, but it's years down the line if we do.
So far the plan is to widen the old driveway and just have a new one poured and have it properly graded away from the house.
We'll be happy with that.
Already noticing how nice it is to be able to back up and not worry about hitting a tree stump ....

Today we got started on the new retaining wall between the front lawn and the driveway and the new steps from the driveway to the upper level leading to the front door.
We got the "exciting" news that it needs to be built before the driveway can be poured, while the front lawn work was being done.
It totally makes sense, since the new asphalt will be going up against it, helping keep it in place but also making for a much cleaner look.
And I'm all about a clean look! LOL ...
The guy that will be doing the new asphalt actually came over this morning, spent a couple of hours at the house, helping me with setting the first couple of rows of the stone pieces of the wall.
I then continued mostly by myself, with my GF helping occasionally.
We had 3 cubic feet of crushed 3/4" stone and we ran out toward the end of the day, making for a couple of quick runs to the quarry, grabbing a half a cubic foot of crushed stone in the back of the Tundra each time.
This is what we got done today:
(the few thin pieces at the top near the house are only there temporarily, it's all that was left on the one pallet we were working off of, so I put them there so I could empty the pallet and put it away)
I got back to working on the retaining wall and new steps today, didn't get as much progress on that as I would've liked.
Turns out I will need to cut some of the blocks and that requires either a $23 blade or renting a $92/day masonry saw, which I'm leaning toward, so that I won't kill my tools.
This was the wall/steps when I left, with the 2 medium-size blocks at the ends of the top step being 2 of the blocks that need to be cut:
I keep running out of crushed stone, making me have to go get the truck reloaded with another half cubic yard, which really doesn't go as far as I'd like.
Today the propane hook-up and bottle finally got installed.
It will provide fuel to the generator and to the stove.
We also had the installers leave a Tee connection available so that when we build a new deck and get the grille on there, we'll be able to run a line to the grille and run it off the same big propane bottle.
