Ok so the factory oil pressure gauge on my 06 3v is intermittently bottoming out and immediately going right back up to normal pressure. It will do this after about a 15 minute or so drive and it will NEVER do it while on the gas, only when I stop at a redlight or whatever and the car is at idle. But sometimes it doesn't do it at all when I drive it. After about the 5th time it happened I stopped driving the damn thing for obvious reasons. Also, I will hear the chime saying oil pressure low and by the time I look down after a split second, it has already returned to normal pressure.

The car is not knocking at all and it runs absolutely normal and it sounds perfectly fine. I have changed the oil since it has happened and I have seen no metal in the oil. The oil pump has about 15k miles on it, which I had installed along with my forged shortblock. The car only slapped down a blistering 497rwhp/451tq... So, I wasn't too worried about the stock ford oil pump gears. Mods are saleen 6.5 w/ 2.75in pulley.

I talked to the shop up here in Lewisville, Tx, HPP Racing, that I have been using and they don't really seem too concerned about it for some reason which I think is weird. They haven't witnessed this incident, though. It's almost as if there is a malfunction in the gauge, but I wouldn't think so. I am just dumbfounded. Wouldn't the pump completely stop working if the gears inside were broken??

Anyways, I would REALLY REALLY appreciate some input. Thanks guys!

IDK on the 11+. The previous gen you could not. The factory guage is a idiot light.

I added a mechanical aftermarket on mine.

The pressure will vary with RPM, that's normal.

I aggre probably just the sensor acting up you can buy a cheap mechanical guage and T it in or install it where the oem sensor is to verify pressure. To me, my stand alone no shit oil pressure gauge is invaluable.

Thanks for the responses guys! I have been so worried the motor was going to be hurt. I will probably just get another gauge to tell me for sure instead of listening to that idiot gauge. Any more recommendations?? I was about thinking I was going to replace the oil pump gears with the billet gears here pretty quick.
