I want to start fresh when I put in my 4.10's, so I will be getting everything new. The Ford Racing M-4700-C clutches, the M-1225-B1 outer bearings and seals, and the M-4209-G410A gears are what I have so far. Am I missing anything else other than fluid?

I have had the gears done 2x in my car and both times the spider gears were shot.

I also went with the motive master bearing kit that came with the better Timkin bearings.

And the last thing that I did was put a better diff cover on that has the cap bolts. There are qutie a few different covers that you can get. I went with the T/A diff cover myself.

Shim pack, friction modifier, if your doing it yourself, do you know how to read the scrible on the back of the ring gear? the bearings on the carrier are a bitch to remove without the correct puller

Some people will notice extra noise when making sharp turns, mine was howling like you described. I didn't know they were bad until the rear was opened but I ordered new ones just in case.

EDIT: Just to let you know, the wear pattern on the ring & pinion was fine so they weren't the noise culpret.

Just checked the oil in the rear. Oil looked like it had black dusty material floating around. Is that clutch material or metal? Planning on a rebuild soon. Hopefully it will make through this weekend at the races. Do you need to replace the clutch pack when you do a rebuild, if so where can you get a complete kit?
