Well this motor may be gone now as well although at the moment it remains a mystery. Car running strong all day long. Knocked down a 10.4 at 135mph onm my 93 octane tune first thing in the morning.

Loaded up some 110 octane gas and installed the shorter belt and 2.5" pulley. on back to back passes, no cooldown, the car put down [email protected] and [email protected] both runs with major belt slip, or so I assume. The car would charge ahead, then fall flat, charge ahead, then fall flat, 3 to 4 times a run, and it felt very much like belt slip to me. I played with the pulleys a little and got the belt ever so slightly tighter. After waiting about an hour on cooldown, I loaded up some ice and made a pass. Still had major belt slip but got a weird noise once the car was slowed down to about 15-20mph to turn onto the return road. It sounded like a rattling/squeaking noise and while i could not locate the source, it did go away about halfway down the return road. I checked the suspension and all was well so i let the car cool for a bit and made my final pass.

The final pass was also loaded up with ice for the run. This run also had A LOT of belt slip with the car charging ahead, then falling flat on its face.. cross the line and start to break. all is still well. engine head temp is 185, oil pressure is excellent, IATs at 129 and falling. Hit the brakes and slow to turn onto the return road and the engine stalls. I roll to a stop and try to restart the car. The engine will attempt to turn over for a millisecond and stop. nothing. I check my crank sensor and its ok. Its almost acting liek a dead battery, but all my electronics are still working. I check the coolant tank and its literally 90% empty. No oil in there either, just coolant and very little at that. Fearing a blown head gasket, I pull the dipstick and all looks fine. I did notice a very minute amount of a chocolate milk like substance coming out of the passenger side breather, but Paul said hes seen that before with the moisture in the air.

I gt towed back to the pits, and we pull the drivers side spark plugs. All look fine. Check the oil again and still looks ok. I had no smoke coming out of the tail pipes. I have no leaks under the car, everything is bone dry under there. I didnt leak anything on the track or return road, or in the pits prior to the run.

We tried to turn the motor manually by the crank bolt and it will not budge 1 millimeter in either direction, even with half the plugs out

The car is currently sitting at Jame's House. My08stang (Al) was extremely kind to let me use his trailer to get the car to Jame';s house for the night since AAA fucked me over stating they cant service cars at racetracks, even though in the past they have done this for me.

Anyway common theories are the crank is broken, the starter is jammed, the flexplate is warped jamming the starter, or the timing chains are broken. All plausible theories but none of which explain all of the missing coolant.

I need to find a way to get the car home tomorrow so i can start to rip it apart. Add to the list the diff is doing a one wheel peel and only powering one drive wheel.

Between 1 drive wheel, and all the belt slip, Id imagine i could have hit a 9 second run today. oh well. I am at the point where Ive fixed the car so many times, that if this isnt a quick simple fix, I will most likely be bowing out of the automotive racing world for the time being. I need to concentrate on life maters for once.

Hey man just like I told my friend the other day after a crappy time at the track, just get your car back home and then take a few days off. Once your gather your thoughts you'll make the best decision for you. I hope its something simple though!

I am hoping that you find it to be something simple and not a complete engine rebuild. I know how things can grind on you after you've been at it for years like you have. But as stated, take a break before you make any permanent decisions.

Good luck brother!

getting it home is the problem. Even if i manage to find a trailer and a truck to pull it, i cant get it on the trailer by myself.

My first thought reading through your post was a seized blower. That would not explain the loss of coolant. But you arent seeing a reason for that either, maybe they are seperate events.

You can call a tow company direct, then give them your AAA card. Had to that a couple years ago after limping my car off track property.

i will, and it isnt even cost efective to call AAA now. its about 145 miles away. if its 100 free miles, leaves me 45 miles at about 4 bucks i guess. thats 180 + tax and hookup and shit. I can rent a truck for a day for 100 including the mileage i need, and a uhaul trailer for 50
