I did a search, and while I was able to find general information about the bmr extreme antiroll install, I couldn't find the answer to this specific question. For those who have installed the xtreme antiroll, did you have the brackets welded to the axle tube with a mig or tig welder? Also, if you used mig, did you use solid core or flux? Lastly, has anyone broken a weld, and if so, what kind of weld was it? Thanks.

You could use either one, but I would use the Tig over the Mig. I don't think you will break either one if done right.

Just an FYI from my understanding, with the BMR Extreme ARB you will have to move the exhaust pipes if they are still located in the factory position. If that is not an issue it is a good mod.

I went with the ARB from racecraft, it allows for stock exhaust location.

It works fantastic.

As for welding, you can choose the style you like.

If you go the tig route, I suggest grinding the tabs a little and fitting them precisely to the axle tubes.

Our suspension components are ALWAYS designed with the customer in mind.

BMR Suspension S197 Mustang, Xtreme Anti-Roll Bar

BMR Suspension S197 Mustang, Xtreme Anti-Roll Bar Installation Instructions

If you look at the images in our instructions, you will see the clearance in the area where the stock location exhaust runs.

Our XSB005 is a direct bolt-on part, with the only welding being on the tabs to the axle housing (4).

If there are any specific questions I can answer, please ask!

OK, Kelly...

1) will lca relocation brackets get in the way of anything? (I have a set already welded on).
2) in the installation instructions, where the bar mounts to the underside of the frame (as shown in image 3 in the instructions), can it sit on top of a 1/8-1/4"plate that is mounted on the frame? This would slightly lower the mounting brackets in relation to the frame, the same amount on both sides. (I have some existing plates in place that the bar supports would need to sit on top of.)

^I left them...We put spacers in the back. Its not sitting 100% b/c of those middle brackets in place, but with the spacers we made, its nice and snug.

The 3rd pic in that thread...that's almost the exact mounting I'd need, with that space near the muffler. Not quite that 'xtreme'.
But, if the end that is raised is normally flat/flush, right there, as shown in the first pic, then how will that affect mounting?
I"m not sure which brackets and holes are there on my '05, but I do now there's a stock swaybar being held in place with one of them.

Thanks.

So I guess that answers all of my questions. If people have used tig and both types of mig with no breakage, then I should be OK regardless of which method I use. I think my welder is set up with a solid core mig, so that's the route I'll be going. Thanks again.

I have mine welded using mig solid. In second season now with no issues and stock exhaust. New question for board: do you set the bar with a pre tension or level? I have mine level with driver in car. It launches straight.

I was told to set it level with my fat ass in the driver seat and then adjust if necessary.

I mig welded mine, stick mick or tig will be fine if done correctly. I had my wife and dog in the driver seat to simulate me sitting in the car when I adjusted my links.

I would need two of my wife sitting in the driver seat to simulate my weight, lol.
