I don't think you will find any solid answers since there are too many variables. However, I wouldn't hesitate to boost the car right away. I built my motor and drove for maybe 200 miles before building my turbo setup and everything is great. Roush and Saleen have cars that come boosted from day one just like the GT500, so no need to wait imo.

I would slap that bitch on right off the showroom floor. Break it in the way you want to drive it.

From what I have seen I would say 8psi is the comfy range. 10psi you are starting to push your luck. HP wise there are some out there pushing 750 right now with no issues. I would say 800hp you are on borrowed time.

At least one has blown up with a whipple and upper 600's @ the wheel. Stock bottom end. I personally wouldn't push it that far.

I would feel very comfortable hitting 600-650rwhp. I would also S/C it from day one. You want to break it in the way you plan to trade it in is my opinion. And I've NEVER had any engine issues from any of my cars. The FoMoCo engine builders run the piss out of them on the stands at the factory anyway. Still, I like to limit my redline blasts until after I've put 200 miles on it. And that is more to break in the trans and rear end than the engine. But after that, drive it like a rental car.

How deep are your pockets?

How fast do you want to go?

Don't cry when you break something!
