The orange/white is the wire that comes labeled as the dimmer/illumination wire on the aftermarket radio harness but I realized that it connects to nothing to the harness coming out of the car.

I'm looking to make my headunit screen to go dim when I turn on the lights.

i might be wrong, but you would probably have to splice it into the dimmer dial next to the headlight switch.

On my 2006GT, I believe I tapped into the green w/white tracer wire on the TCS plug for illumination for the aftermarket radio. I also read that you can tap into the blue/yellow wire of the hazard light switch. Basically, you are looking for a wire that goes from 0V to 12V when the headlight switch is turned on.

On the light switch, tan wire #9 gets 12 volts when the lights are on. I use that as my dimmer voltage. But, that's not variable, just 0 or 12.

Ok so I tapped into the yellow/white wire connecting to the info/setup/reset buttons and now my day/night function works as it should!
