RH rear turn signal and brake light issue

2005 Mustang GT brake lights work before starting the engine. They also work when the ignition switch is turned On. The right rear turn signal works when the ignition is turned to On but engine not started. Once the engine is started, the right brake and turn signal lights do not function. The running lights in the rear will light with the engine running. No issue with the left rear lights.

After turning the engine off , releasing the brake pedal and returning the turn signal to its neutral position for a couple of seconds, the system resets itself. The brake lights work when the pedal is depressed and the turn signal functions if the ignition is turned to ON.

Suggestions?

That's a weird one. Do you have a multi meter? You might have to start probing connections and maybe check for bad grounds or corroded contacts. I think the signals go through the SJB as well, and that's always a suspect, but try the cheaper troubleshooting first

It sounds like the SJB is getting confused. Two suggestions: check charging system make sure its not overcharging. Disconnect battery for 10 min to reset SJB.
