Just don't rev it too high repeatedly and make sure your tune is safe. Also one tank of bad fuel will end all your fun.

he took the suggestions so kudos for that, he made the effort, he gets the reward. I'm not always a hard case.

ha yeah off topic but when i joined SD burned me and i did typical net noob refire. But ended up realizing my noobness i sent a few PM's out.

most classic line to come from SD: "search button...............MOTHERFUCKER" hahahahha

OP: you should be more concerned about where you run out of fuel. Thats when things will start going bad. Keep your rev limiter at about 65-6700. mines at 7k and im not too sure i like the way it feels at 6999 esp with poly motor mounts.

My name is Matt and I'm actuall out of St Augustine, I generally come with hat in hand since I don't know very much about the working of cars. I find this site to be a wealth of knowledge, so forgive me for asking stupid questions or post questions in the wrong area's. I guess I need to hit the pause button before submitting.

Back on topic: Everyone including myself wants to have as much HP as possible. The place I'm taking it to will set me up right, not to mention the car club I'm in will look out for me to ensure I don't get HP happy. My mechanic that is doing the work actuall let me do the wrenching under his instruction for about half of the isntall, before I had to head south for work. It was a great learning experience, I just wich I could have stayed for the complete install. I guess I need an "Auto mechanics for dummies book LOL. Thanks again,

get rid of the mechanic. You can learn everything on this site!

Good luck. Consider a methanol kit if you want "safer" power

I'm taking it to Tuners Inc in Orange Park FL. Tony Gonyon is one of the best in the business

Tony is the person who tunes my car, I was running 470-480rwhp for over 3yrs without an issue, it was when it was push to 520rwhp on the stock bottom that it went pop, but that was not because of the tune, it was just time, probably 500+ passes at the track.

One of the best thing you could if you plan on tracking the car is get a trunk mount ice box for the intercooler, keeping the inlet temps down is very important especially at the track. I would suggest getting the larger dual pass intercooler from Afco also.

Tony will do an awesome job tuning the car, so nothing to worry about there. Tell him Steve from CA said Hello.

Thanks for the info, I bought the Whipple used and the HE that came with it was proabably in working condition, but figured it was worth changing out now while I got the front end off. So I bought the afco dual pass HE (without fans) I hope this does the trick

When I first supercharged my car I'd worry about blowing it up all the time. Over two years later, I'm a lot less worried, in fact not worried at all now.

Keep in mind, the failures you see on the board, are a handful out of thousands of supercharged cars.

we have pretty much the same setup bro. I can run my car up to 500rwhp but I know how I drive. It all depends on your driving attitude. As I said, I know how I drive so I stayed safe below 500 rwhp. Changing the whole shortblock is a little bit too much for me at this point so I'm considering forging the internals and using the stock block. Will probably give me 150-200 rwhp more safely but anyone could correct me if I'm wrong.

your fuel pump (if stock with a boost-a-pump) will run out at about 480rwhp. Then u start to hit danger area.

GT500 pumps will take that out of the equation. Then its up to your tune and how your motor was built.

Methanol will get you a long way

Thanks, I'm running a GT500 pump, so I think it should take care of that?

you'll be good on fuel, he's referring to the added cooling and octane that methanol injection adds

Ahh ok..not sure how that works or how it's connected..not even sure I need it..I'm not that serious into racing at this time, maybe just the once a year thing, and the once and a while catching a vett, camero or challenger at a traffic light...HEHE. I guess this is a great opportunity to use the search button

Just a little new member hazing is all. Like the others said, 10 psi seems to be the consensus. I refuse to say any engine with boost is safe, especially on a stock block. There are varying degrees of relative safety, but anything can go boom given the right circumstances, even those engines that are built for xxxxhp. Most tuners will tell you 10 on a stock block, though, that or over 450ish rwhp.

Keep the rpm under 6300 WOT and make sure the tune is good. I beat the piss out of mine and no issues. Not sure what my HP is but peak torque was right around 480.

Be careful, after a month of getting on it, you are going to then want a forged block, ported heads, big cams, more boost, etc. Its a bit addicting.

Your telling me it's an addiction...I've only owned my 2008 for 22 months and was bone stock when I got it. and the list of mods is already long. I've already gone through a phase one on the engine. And now with the whipple I'm on to phase 2. my suspension has been lowered and completly upgrade, with GT500 shocks and struts, BMR lowering springs, pan hard bar,uca & relocation bracket, steeda lca and poly bushing on sway bars.Hurst comp shifter, cevini hood, roush front end, CS//GT side scoops, and CDC quarter window scoops. Foose nitrous rims Toyo tires, and a lot of little dress up items on the engine and interior. I just powder coated the intake manifold and cross over on the whipple, painted fuel rails and under drive pullies..and on and on. I'll post up some Pic's once I'm done..In the correct section for sure...LOL ....WLkn Tal has won 1st place in an MCA event for modified and undercarriage last spring. My wife and I are very proud of our stang. WHen I came up with the theme I wasn't really thinking of a tribute car, but I guess that's what it is GT350.

methanol isnt just for racing. I barely race my car (autocross once a month). I have a methanol kit waiting to be installed. What it does is it increases octane, and cools the IAT's so that your engine is much less prone to knock and detonation... it may or may not be the saving grace of your stock motor.

Start to pay very close attention to where you get gas from. All 93 octane is not created equal.

I almost had Hurricane install mine and Tony tune it as well. Seemed like a nice group of guys over there.
