I sold a flowmaster exhaust that was on my car. Cheap I might add $160 shipped. I have pictures of it on my car looked great and videos of it as well. After it arrives to the new owner I get a message from paypal telling me they put a hold on the funds. This guy has 1 post on this forum and no feedback. He never contacted me so I email him. Whats the problem. He tells me he held the exhaust up under his factory exhaust and it wont fit. I explain you have to remove your exhaust and the hanger brackets to put the exhaust where it goes. He then says he took it to a muffler shop and they told him it wouldnt fit. I said I know it fits I just removed it. Then he tells me he doesnt like the look of it. I said whatever send it back. Then he sends me pictures and he painted the exhaust black. He never mentioned this one time. I am being punked here. I dont want the exhaust back Im already out $40 from shipping it and its not in the same condition its now black he also says its damaged that one of the tips are bent and it must have got like that in shipping he says. :wtf1:

Sorry, but this is why I won't allow Paypal access to my bank account. I may lose some sales here but I'm not getting fucked by some scumbag working the system.

Sucks for him. Once he painted it, he assumed full ownership of it. Ride out the PayPal claim and tell them what's up. Document everything from the guy, including pictures.

Did he start a paypal claim or did paypal just put a hold on the funds? I have had paypal put holds on funds that I have sent before to someone else. I called them and they said sometimes they do it just as an investigative precaution when they notice a spike in activity on an account.

Sounds to me like he damaged them trying to install them. I know for a fact they fit they were on my car. Heck I won some first place trophies at car shows with them on. They sounded fine I just tried a new exhaust. Ive went through 4 different ones just see what they all sound like. He never says one thing about them being painted in his dispute. He said he was shipping them back fed ex then says its going to cost $65 to ship them back I said so what. Then a day later he says he painted them black and a tip is damaged but he would strip the black paint and send them back. I said hell no. Ill end up getting bad trader feedback from a total idiot and my funds are on hold.

He filed a claim wanting a refund.

Funny thing is it all happened right after bbr ripped me off. I list these mufflers and a guy that has zero posts and just joined that day pms me about them.

Your getting punked. Whats his screen name? How did he know you were selling them? I doubt he had access to the classifieds...

If thats the case, and you sold them to someone who doesnt have access to the classifieds, and has only 1 post, you where asking for trouble.

Steedman, explain how a member doesn't have access to the classifieds? I believe you're highly mistaken.
I do agree about being wary of selling to new members though.

Once he modified them, should be case closed.. Even Summit wouldn't take a return, if they have been modified, and they will let you return pretty much everything.

And thought paypal only assured SOMETHING would be delivered. And you have proof of delivery and that buyer modified them. Like mentioned above, contact them with the pictures of before and after and with the communications between you and buyer.

Why would you sell to someone with no posts?

You have to act responsibly when selling on here, and do everything you can to avoid getting scammed.

I will never sell to a brand new member, let alone with zero posts.

For the price you sold them for, and the fact you sold them to a guy with no history, it shows you just wanted to get rid of them. Maybe chalk it up as a loss and let it go. Sucks man, but you gotta be careful who you sell to.

It's the world we live in man.
