I am on the first step it says to drain the brake fluid from the master cylinder by either suck it from the top or drain from rear brakes. Can I get by just draining the front brakes? Any advice is appreciated. I have never done anything with brakes before so be kind.

thanks.

I didn't drain any brake fluid. I let it drip, only an oz. at most came out. I am still in process. I need to bleed the brake lines and find a place to mount the switch.

Oh so your installing your line lock right now? Did your drain from the front calipers? Also i plan on putting my switch next to where you turn on your fogs in the blank gap. I just took off both tires but i dont want to start draining from wrong area. How are you doing it.

where did you let it drip from

I didnt drain it completely but you will need to buy some more brake fluid.

After installing it you'll need to push the air out of the lines. You pump the brakes until you get pressure and then while your foot is on the pedal you have someone open up the bleeder valve and let the air out. Once you get straight fluid move to the next caliper

I am doing Hawk HPS pads, ATE Yellow and Russell ss lines at the same time. So I have to bleed all four brakes. I am thinking about using the fog light switch. I removed the MC to ABS line and let her drip.

Damn.. beat me to it

Don't over complicate installing this system. The hardest part of the whole job is deciding on where you want to put the switch. You don't need to drain the brake reservoir. Just remove the one line it tells you to remove, put the 2 piece line back in it's place with the solenoid in the middle. Run a hot wire in to the cabin to one side of a switch, run the other side of the switch to one pole on the solenoid, ground the other pole of the solenoid. Bleed the front brakes. It really is that simple.

thanks for the input yah I figured it out are there any holes in the firewall that allows me to run the switch? Also the tubes connecting to the solenoid should they be very tight? or should they be able to swivel?

Thanks for all the help mounting this solenoid is going to be a PITA!

There is a rubber grommet that has a spot you can sut to run the wire through right below the brake pedal irrc. If you take the plastic inner fender out on the drivers side you can see it very clearly.

Is the switch just grounding the solenoid? Since the fog lamps were deleted, could the fog switch be used? Or is that a positive switch and we need a negative one?

The I just routed the harness with the fuse from the fuse box to the solenoid I connected it to the fuse box and the female spade to the male solenoid. in the instructions he talks about how their are two female spades is he talking about the other wire harness with the switch?

instructions: step 14. He talks about BOTH wires. But what wires. Please help.

I have the exact same switch. There are three female spade on the back I have wired to ground and the other to the solenoid what do I do with the third prong?

I am saving the rest for tomorrow. I just need to refill the brake fluid and bleed the lines manualy.

It says on the back of my switch - one goes to ground, one to power, and the third goes to the solenoid. Is there a label on the back of the switch? I had it on the switch and on the box it came in.
