I'm sure that will work, but what you want is that SLICK AS GLASS finish in the end. That is achieved by wetsanding with at least 2000 grit and buffing. Also, wet sanding between sprays gets the trash out so achievement of that slick finish is attained.

Good luck and PM or post if you need anything. Like I said, you really can't screw this up, but you will need some patience and diligence to gain the desired outcome.

thanks, ur right i do want the slick as glass finish..im gonna wetsand between coats...ill have to buy some beer and chill out and just do it right :beerdrink:..id rather it take a little longer to look perfect

did u wetsand between coats of clear also? and about how long u think between coats of the vht did u wait to sand and also between coats of clear if u did sand between coats of clear

I did wetsand between coats of VHT as well as between the coats of clear, hence the reason why it took ALL DAY...lol. It's not a one day project, matter of fact I could of easily made this a 3 day project but I didn't want to stretch it out that long so 2 days was enough.

Check post #12 for the tutorials I followed. Seriously, just take your time, paint, sand, rinse, dry, paint, sand, repeat.....repeat......get drunk.....pass out......lol. The more patient you are with this, the better it will come out.:thumb:

I wish there were some Mustang enthusiasts that lived around here. I LOVE doing stuff like this!

They look great man! I don't think you will get a ticket for them I have tail light blackout covers on and I have been pulled over 3 times by state cops for other reasons, been nit-picked to death and not once had any of them mention anything about my tail lights

Here is my front side markers.

I got them off of Ebay for $29 + $10 shipping. I sealed them with RTV aroung the edges and have ZERO condensation issues.

EDIT: However, if I hadn't had my smoked front side marker lights already, I would have done to them what I did to my tails and just VHT painted the OEM ones but I had the corners on my '06 and just took them off and put them on my '07.

do you have a link to where you got those sidemarkers, i am not gonna vht my front signals because i wont like the look of the orange showing through..gonna do the clear smoked in the front...

i found these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FREE...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Mine look like these HERE

The ebay vendor I got mine from no longer exist though.. LOL>

If you get these from e-bay, run a bead of clear silicone around where the lens meets the lens bucket to seal them and prevent them from condensation. It's a must IMO. PM if you need more instructions/directions

3rd brake light and side markers came out GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! nice work!:thumb:

I bought some here; http://www.360tuners.com/mustang_1.aspx

but they were $20. They did come with yellow bulbs, which you need and they shipped pretty fast. They have other lights too for the stangs although they do cater to the ricer crowd.

No chrome trim on mine. I think maybe that is the reflection of the lens' edge? I used my stock bulbs with mine.

they look like it has a chrome trim in the pic but yeah it must just be the reflection..are yours identical to those in the link you posted? because i like how yours look in the view of your car from the front, they match the headlights pretty good and dont look too dark.. Ive heard about sealing them ill be sure to do that..

Tyler, call that place and ask them if that's chrome or not. I would. They look exactly like mine but I did call and ask if what I was getting was what I was wanting, again, I got mine from Zenmotorsports in which I can't find their website anymore.

Call em up to verify. That way if they come in and, heaven forbid, it's the wrong thing, you can hold them to making it right.
