Haven't been able too for the last month or two. I'm hoping comp will be able to handle it.

Zimmers is out of the game.

Yeah, I figured that. It was kind of a rhetorical remark. It is really sad that a company came out just to sell some kits without the proper R&D and then left all those people hanging.

Sprayer, my journal bearing precision spins pretty fast with the car at an idle. I would try to get with comp or go throw someone else that is a dealer to get some help.

Yes, but they are the ones that sold you the turbo, and should be there to work with Comp for you on the warranty.

Help me out with this one; was the turbo from Comp to begin with or did Comp pick up Zimmer's warranty work?

I suspect sprayer and I both received .96 ar housing turbo's because that was what COMP had available when we ordered. I hope COMP stands behind the product, if we have trouble.

EDIT: Sprayer, give this guy a call. Attached e-mail.

Brian,

Looking for your build and I would say the CT4 6765 will work great and hit your goals.

You have a strong motor with good displacement so it will spool very fast for you.

If you want to talk about it in depth give me a call any time.

Hi

I e-mailed in quite a while back, but am now at the point of purchasing from a vendor, and want your feedback. My main concern, is with spool time. I have a 4.6 3V stroked to 5.0 running 9.19 CR. The vendor kit has a CT-6765 billet/oil-less series head. My realistic HP goal is 600-650, but with the 9.19 CR I am a soft on the bottom. Would any of these units be a better choice with the billet/oil-less?

Hmm...ok...I know when I order turbo's I specify what I want as far as intake/exhaust/ar but they are the same for the GT kit...if Zimmer sold Comp turbo's and they are within the warranty period they will stand behind them provided there wasn't something causing the damage like being starved for oil, etc.

I am pretty much going nuts waiting to see how mine works out. I know at cold start, the turbo wheel does not want to spin easily....which makes sense, as the grease is thicker. Gaaaaa.

Very true; 300-500 miles is what Comp tells people to have on the turbo before taking it on the dyno/racing it to ensure the grease is broken in.

I'm going to buy a smaller housing when I send it in. Beings I'm only aiming for 500ish I may go with a .70 to get the fastest spool possible.
