tensioner

Hey Peter, sorry i did not post my findings i forgot.I ran at the track & made 8 hard passes out of 14.I could not get in the 11's at all.Pulled 1.7 60' times has anyone had belt slipage issues with the tensioners?? Is the tension the same as a stock one?? Oh yeah no bend it like beckham tensioner or belt blow off or shread,i declare this tensioner problem solved.Sean Hyland saw it as well & said he will tell Jim Bell of Kenne Bell about it at Sema. Thanks for your help & input,it was a pleasure meeting you in Montreal & discussing our cars.

Hi Randy,
It was nice meeting you and the wife also.
The only one who had an issue with some belt slip was GI Joe due to the lack of belt wrap the Saleen blower has.
What we did for that was drill a second spring hole in the base in line with the left most bolt hole giving it a bit more tension.
The spring hole is not visible once the tensioner is mounted in the car.
Ron running the kb tune at 10 psi is running 11.6's using the same spring tension as you.

Thump_rrr's tensioner is worth a tenth in the quarter mile! (joking:laughlots:) Bolted mine on this weekend and ran a best ever [email protected]. Hope to enjoy many more track days with this more reliable tensioner.

Ran a 10.8 through the 5 speed with your tensioner...flawless

I'm glad you guys are liking your tensioners.
Thanks for spreading the word.

Just got my tensioner yesterday. It is a beautiful piece and I can't wait to get it on my engine. We are finishing the rebuild this week and next week. Hopefully I can test the tensioner in the near future. Thanks Peter for making such a great product!

Thanks Peter. Received my tensioner and finally had time to get it installed tonight after work. Thanks to everyone on this site for the wealth of information. I have been lurking for some time.

Will take pictures this weekend when I have more time.

Montreal Qc,
Update:
The Thump_rrr Racing tensioner now fits 03-04 Cobras.
After a few tweeks to perfectly align the tensioner with the grooved idler pulley on the Terminators we now have a new addition to our lineup.

Here's the new engraving which will be going out on all tensioners from now on.

I ordered mine today. I'm adding the Big Boost kit(10 lb pulley,intercooler,GT500 fuel pump, etc) to my non-intercooled Whipple next month. I've already bent one stock tensioner. In my opinion this mod is a no-brainer for twin-screw s/c cars and should provide much needed reliablity in place of the stock POS tensioner.

I ordered mine yesterday. Cant wait to have this so I can go out and play. I also ordered a slightly larger belt. The belt im using now is a K061080 and it barely fits. I ordered a K061098, its supposed to be a half inch larger.

OK about an hour ago I got a knock on my door from UPS. I cant believe quick it took. I just ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. A+++

Now as far as the longer belt, I wont do it. I installed the tensioner just now and I noticed some belt slip. I will be putting the V10 waterpump pulley back on now. It is an awesome tensioner though. Thanks Peter
