just wondering whats the length of your trans shifter cable?

My original 5ft cable peeled from 1 end due to being too short, then I got a 8ft and it seems it got screwed from the inside because it got stuck.

both were B&M heavy duty series, now I'm thinking in geting a 6ft blue (non HD) and give a try?

The weird thing is that the 8ft cable was working with no problem at all, parked the car in a place and when I tried to move it later the cable was stuck... W.T.F.?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'm using a B&M Ratchet shifter.

I have a Hurst Quarter stick and the cable is about 5' long. I have no problems with mine at all, but mine is a gated shifter rather than ratcheting. I prefer gated shifters, but that's just me. Is the cable in a bind or anything?

I can just say the cable is installed properly as instructions say and by persons who have installed tons of this type of shifters, but I just dont have a #$^@ idea why it keeps failing :wtf:

I have a B&M Quick Silver shifter. I'm not sure which length cable I'm running, I'm just using the cable that came with the shifter. Been going for 2 years now with no issues. The car is in storage now but I'll be sure to check the cable during spring maintenance.

I seem to remember it being blue. The car is in my parents garage and I'll be at their house tonight. I'll uncover the car and take a quick look to be sure.

I don't know what you have but I have a reverse vb. This might make a difference since the cable has to be routed differently.
