The car has developed a "tick" in the valve train outside of the normal OHC clattering. Going to inspect it further Saturday but going to swap in some Hot Rod cams for kicks. Also going to upgrade the chain tensioners to the metal variety.
A lifter went out, the bearing in the cam follower locked up and in turn wiped out a cam lobe. Since I bought the wrong cam phaser bolts
we couldn't install the Hot Rod cams to fix the issue (ALWAYS replace broke parts with something that makes more noise) and got VERY lucky my buddy had a stock cam with a phaser still attached.
I aint gonna lie, the 3V top end scared me worst than the #8 issue of the Coyote. At least ours was tune related, those 3V topends grenade under normal driving conditions. FTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, haven't installed them just yet. Turned out [back in idk, Sept. '13] I had bought the wrong cam bolts. Soooo.... The car is actually running on a loaner, stock cam and haven't had time to try again.
Haven't taken many pictures lately, simply because there isn't much going on.. I sorta got both 'stangs together for a picture:
