3M makes adhesion promoters for this very purpose. So yes. You can wrap textured pieces. Now keep in mind of course that the vinyl will have that textured look to it as well but it can be done. Here is the catch with vinyl. You probably arent going to wrap the whole grille for example in one sold sheet of vinyl. Correct if im wrong. But my reasoning is based off of the fact that there are too many complex curves too close together to do so. So there will be overlapping of layers in some areas. For example. Most of the time when you wrap a car, once you get to the mirrors you almost have to use two pieces to wrap it. You wind up wrapping the inside of the mirror ( side closest to the car) first and then overlapping another piece on top of the leading edge and finish out the mirror. So there are draw backs.

I'm thinking about adding some color to my car, I have permission from the wife to go full wrap if I decide to.... knowing that plastics can be wrapped gives me some new possibilities. I wouldn't do it myself regardless, there's a shop close by that's been doing some kick ass work.

I have, on multiple occasions, kicked around the idea of wrapping my car in vinyl. I've always wanted a Mustang that was the color of the sky before a severe thunderstorm. You know that dark, bluish-gray color I'm talking about?

I saw a 15 mustang in Atlanta at Formula Drift that was wrapped in a brushed aluminum vinyl. That by far is the most awesome wrap ive ever seen. Ive seen a blue version of it before on a Prius as well. Its actually the company car that my friend drives at his job. It looks insane.

Finally had time for proper washing

I finally had time to give the car a proper washing. It took about 6 hours- wash, clay bar, wash, polish to remove swirls, wash, sealant, wax. I also detailed the engine bay. I was amazed at how much crap the clay bar removed from the paint. The bar started as a light grey, but ended up brown.

Thanks Guys! I keep seeing people with cool scenery pictures and I always seemed to shoot mine in the driveway... figured it was time to get some real shots now that I have the new wheels.
