Since I first joined this forum several years back, I've always grunted out a little "ugggg" every single time I see someone selling OEM parts they removed from their cars as they upgraded. More than a few times, I've seen them posting months later, a long list of OEM parts they're looking for because they're returning their car to stock. That's when I roll my eyes and say a quiet, "damn..." to myself.
Now I know that there are reasons at the time to sell off those parts that could range from lack of storage to lack of funds, but before you sell off those parts think really hard if it'll came back to haunt you. Because it often does if what's posted here is any indication.
Myself, I've got every single part including brackets, bolts, wiring, k-member parts, axles, bumpers, etc... etc... etc... stored in a corner of garage for my 2008. I even have my stock hood cabled to the ceiling. Why? Because I know that eventually I'll tire of this 2008 and will buy the current Mustang and go to town on that one. But before I part with the '08 to a private buyer, I'll return it to stock.
This is the same thing when I got rid of my 1999 Mustang, and bought this one. But not before returning it to 95% stock (there was no way I was going to try and remove the sub-frames I welded in).
Just my .02.
