That's the thing, I was blowing the tires off the car with the Master Power in second gear, and now all that brutal power is gone. I'll go through the car this week and make sure there is nothing loose I am missing. Maybe the intercooler haveing some residual oil left in it is mucking things up as well...

Well Dave I'd make sure all clamps were tight and visually inspect couplers also. One thing that does give clue is your making boost in 3rd and 4th. I'm not sure how much you should expect, but i'm guessing 1.5psi loss through your ic isn't too bad. I'm not expert but to me that tells me you aren't loading it enough. I'd say not even worry about the exhaust housing, but worry about the gears first. Once you get them on you can make a better assessment of whats going on.

My setup has I'm assuming the same wastegate spring that you are using and my wastegate signal is coming from the top of the intercooler. I don't know why but I see about 9lb on a cool day easily. When it was being tuned it even spiked to 9.5. My boost gauge is coming off the manifold too. My car is in the shop so I can't see how much boost I make in second, but I do know my car will blow the tires away so its hard to tell.

Good advice!

I would clean the maf really good too.

Have you done the leak test yet?

Excellent ^^ advice there too about the maf. Give that a good looking over to make sure a bunch of oil didn't get tossed all over that. If your tune is messed up your going to not make full boost as the car is running half way shitty.

I really hope you get it all situated out because I've wanted a new turbo for a while but with the issues and what not from you and Jeremy I'm almost tending to stay where I am. Where I am is happy that I haven't had to adjust anything with the turbo side of my car for over a year.

Jeremy send that turbo my way to get it broke in for you while you are away. Greg told me your plans and you sir are crazy. PM me to talk off line.

Lol and op, you may want to edit your first post as not to give comp turbos a bad name if everything works out.

Yeah I editted the thread title, that is on my list next. Don't let this deter you since I am a relative newb to turbo stuff. The verdict is still out but if I had to bet it's not the turbo's fault at this point.

Take it from me, in the end once you get it straight it will be beautiful. I love driving my car and wanted to DD it because everything else sucks to drive that I am capable of getting my hands on. The turbo was a great decision and once you get it right and a good setup(gears and all) you should be very happy as well.

No worries, I have had it turbo for the last 12k miles and those miles were wonderful... I am sure I'll figured out what's wrong with my setup eventually.

Simple turbo swap!

YEa I want to do a simple swap too, but mine involves a Aluminator, set of pumps, injectors, and a e2 boost controller. Simple right! ;-)

I just did the leak test, and I find I gained about 1.5 PSI across the board. This is about the pressure drop I should have seen across the IC correct?

Gaining those 1.5 PSI put the boost about where it was on the old On3 wastegate, and a lot of my lost power has been regained according to the butt dyno.

I haven't done the leak test yet, I think that will be after work this afternoon.

Honestly at your level I would only expect like .5 psi loss. IMHO you have a small leak.

Your will be extremely impressed after you swap to lower gears you will pick up spool and the car will be even faster.

That answers the question then... I've got some tinkering to do. Thanks a ton for the advice!
