That response would lead me to ask for a refund and get a new tuner.

This is what I've done at this point. I get it, they're busy. When we get busy, we don't take on new work. Take the items off your website so people aren't in the wind because you're busy.

Hell, even if you don't do that at least respond to my e-mails with the fact that you're busy and maybe a timeline.

I'm currently talking with Justin and getting my tune tweeked to near perfect. You def have to call and check up because like everyone else says it's just him writing those tunes!

Shoot I've even talked to him at midnight through emails sometimes, the dude is a little unorganized I imagine, but does a great job nonetheless!

Again- I'm not saying anything about the quality of work as I'm sure it's amazing. I'm just speaking from my experience thus far.

It's been two weeks almost, not a single e-mail, phone call nor single e-mail answered from my end and the only phone call I've had, the guy asked for my order number and just said it was being worked on.

I'm just a bit skeptical about that as they don't really know anything about my car other than the very basic information I placed into my order form.

"They" is Justin. He's the one you spoke with. It's disconcerting how little info he asks for but mind boggling how much he knows about our Mustangs. He doesn't tune other cars so it's not like he has to deal with dozens of different platforms. He's definitely a specialist and will eventually deliver a tune equal to or better than any top tuner in the country. If you have an issue with it, just tell him because he already knows the fix.

And yes, it's frustrating as hell waiting on him. I've been trying off and on for over 6 months to get back in on his dyno to update my numbers and double check the tune after all the changes I've made. I think once he replied to one of my emails and said my tune was fine and didn't need updating.

This isn't directed at VMP or Justin, but what is it with all these shops around that don't respond or give accurate times in relation to parts/tunes/etc. I've dealt with several shops local and otherwise and all seem to lack in the customer service area. These places would be money ahead just to have someone that handles response times and exceptions.

Whomever I spoke with asked for my order number, held the phone down and said: 'He's working on it'. So, this lead me to believe there's indeed a 'they'.

I totally get that it's probably stellar work- and I'm even willing to wait for it, but zero communication over a two week timeframe after multiple e-mails is just silly.

Again, I wasn't trying to start a shit storm here at all. I was overly excited to work with these guys on a car that I very much enjoy already and have invested a pretty good chunk of money on.

I read through a lot of threads here and decided that VMP would be the way to go, bypassing my normal route of Performance Autosport (guys are great too) only an hour away from me in Richmond. Just wish there were some communication, that's all.

Yes, there is/are "they". I do R&D, tech support, and sales when needed. I am rarely (very) on this forum so thanks to Chris for passing along your concerns. Justin is generally busy on the dyno and/or working on tunes. Steven is our newest addition and can take your orders if you encounter any issue with our website order system.

I am available from. 5p-9p weekdays (after the proverbial "day job").

You can reach me on the main vmp number and hit ext 112 before the message ends.

Please do NOT use PM for this or any other forums to reach me.

For orders, if it's been more than a week, email me with;

Your order number and item(s)
Your vehicle and all performance mods

Just curious-why not use Mid Atlantic Performance for a dyno tune in Richmond vice dealing with the email tune headaches?

As I mentioned, I typically deal with Performance Autosport, also out of Richmond, but I figured I'd give VMP a try out of pure convenience and feedback from these forums.

I didn't realize there was 'headache' involved. :]

Well...if you are posting about it...there must be some "headache"...

Anyway, sounds like it is being taken care of, let us know when it arrives and is installed what you think of it!

As a quick update: Called Justin today and he pretty much dropped what he was doing to work on the tune. Got the tune installed, along with the CAI that's been riding in the trunk for a couple of months now and it's a completely different vehicle.

Happy to be working with these guys and can't wait to see what he gets out of it after some datalogging. Thanks again Racingtheburg and BJ for your attention to this thread.
