Im done with carbs. Lol I have one project left with a carb. If it happens, I will put a new 1850 on it, set idle and enjoy.
I have one bike that still has carbs. Just redid them last year, idle jets clogged. Need to ride it more!
Carbs do suck....lol Ive gone digital.

If I do another carbed car that I want to be fast, I'll buy something from Quickfuel or something like that rather than putting the time into building my own. It was time consuming really dialing in a carbed combo, especially without an objective way to data log it-small changes in air bleed size could make a big difference in your fuel curve but tough to watch a wideband, rpm, and the road at the same time. Injection is just so much more consistent and so easy to data log.
If it came from the factory injected, I'd never put a carb on it but if it came from the factory carbed, I'd consider injecting it.

It's like I said earlier. If you suck air through a bigger straw, you won't need to suck as hard to breathe in the same volume of air.

Yes you could indeed put a drop-in K&N panel filter into your stock 05-09 airbox and keep it serviced to ensure it doesn't become restrictive. I forgot about the 05-09 Saleen airbox cover with 98mm MAF and intake tube so I'm glad you mentioned it. I don't know how its airflow capacity compares to the 10 GT airbox but I'd say it's likely to be higher. They're pretty hard to find though but if you're lucky enough to come across one, it would be a great mod for an 05-09 GT (especially with K&N panel filter) and appear OEM. You'd need a tune though to correct for the bigger MAF tube diameter.
My reason for asking about the Saleen 98mm airbox cover, is my car has it along with the Saleen VI supercharger. I also have a second airbox cover kept away as a spare just in case. My car also has a JDM 91 octane tune for the Saleen VI blower and Saleen 98mm MAF airbox cover. So everything is covered, no pun intended lol. I also use Airaid (Synthamax) oil free synthetic panel filters rather than traditional cotton panel filters that require oiling. Also note that Saleen cuts out the bottom portion of the airbox in order to increase the amount of airflow which is drawn-in from the underside of the vehicle. At any rate, was just curious how it's airflow capacity would compare to the stock 10 GT airbox
