I installed the 3" Magnaflow competition catback. Hopefully after a little more adjusting I can make it clear the rear axle better. Right now the piping taps the rear axle on bumps and it drives me nuts. The exhaust sounds great though.

Nope, it will do that no matter how hard you try. It's why I ditched my cat-back MagnaFlow Competition. Every bump: CLANK!

Plus it droned like nobody's business.

I actually working on it now. I slid the ota pipes forward and it helped but didn't completely solve the problem. I'm about to take a hammer to the pipes to gain extra clearance.

It's the driver side OTA hitting the axle vent tube. I heated up and hammered it a bit and it helped somewhat. My car is fairly low to the ground, though, so that made it a bit worse I'm sure.

Same problem here. My car is on H&R supersport springs so it's pretty low. I adjusted the pipes so hopefully it will clear. I have about 1" clearance now all around the axle.

Make sure it isn't too close to the phb brace. That is what mine used to hit on. Took several adjustments to gain the little extra clearance needed to keep it from bumping when I hit certain bumps.

I seems to clear ok but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up.

Finally installed the adjustable BMR upper control arm and mount that I bought during the last Black Friday sale, about 7 months ago, lol
Set the length as close to the stock one as I could figure it, for now, until I can get the car on a drive-on lift.
Quick test drive, love it.
Didn't expect to feel anything, just wanted to make sure there were no unwanted noises.
Didn't expect the firmer feeling from the rear of the car when accelerating.
Love it.

Getting closer to firing it up, have some wires to extend/solder fill the fluids and get tune done..

It's a beefy work of art, especially when compared to the puny factory parts, but even when compared to the Steeda unit I had in there:

It's kind of a shame that it's hidden under the car:

Couple of days ago we brought this home.
My fiancee's son bought it, we borrowed a trailer from a friend and got the thing home.
'69 Mach 1 shell, needs all kinds of work, but he's psyched to take it on and resto-mod it:

I'm going to try and get mine in this week depending on how my back feels.

That looks like it was at Ford Carlisle this year. I had one of those and wish I still did.

It wasn't a hard swap.
I let the axle drop, supported it right before it drooped fully, while the back of the car was on tall jack stands, higher up of course.
My chin splitter in the front was almost touching the ground, lol.
I also had the front of the pumpkin supported by my floor jack, which helped align the bolt hole up top when I was done

Have you verified by the trim plate that it is an actual Mach I car? There should be a plate inside the drivers door (usually missing if doors been replaced before) and one on the radiator support behind the right headlight assembly.
Mach I's are code 63C.
63A - sportroof standard
63B - sportroof deluxe
63C - sportroof Mach I

Installed GT350 Intake Manifold and Lund 93 tune on my 15 GT. Broke the fuel rail bolt off. Gonna have to take it to a shop to get fixed. No WoT runs for me =(.
