Removed the upper control arm in the Shelby today, cleaned/lubed it and installed a grease fitting in it, then re-installed it, all greased up.
Did this hoping that the work would cure a dull whine heard from the back of the car during low-speed turning, as in when maneuvering around a parking lot.
Noise still there after, which sucks, but at least the UCA is greasable now.
Not sure what Steeda was thinking making a non-greasable arm like that.
Their LCA's are also not greasable :/
This is the way the UCA looked once I was done with it:

I then went into the diff, since the fiancee was nice enough to volunteer some info that the noise seems to lessen or dissipate after about an hour of driving.
So it pretty much led me to want to take a look at the gears back there ...

This is after I cleaned up everything using up a full can of brake cleaner:

The coating seems to be worn off some of the teeth on the top and bottom spider gears, but other than that everything seems OK, as far as I can tell.
The whole center section was replaced 1-2 years ago, new Ford Racing parts installed by a Ford master tech friend of mine.

Plan is to use twice the usual friction modifier when I re-fill it, then top it off with Amsoil fluid.
Cover's back on now, RTV is curing.
Will get back to it tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday

At the least ripped the boot on Coast driveshaft, pop & cloud of smoke on highway not great feeling. Anyone know if they still exist?

Got the new plates the other day in the mail, waiting on the registration to show still. Turns out I caused a little problem. The dealership I bought from didn't file the paperwork to register the car to me in a timely enough fashion, so when the finally went to do it, 2 days AFTER my temporary expired, NY told them my old plates were replaced.

So I have to go sign more paperwork, and drive around with an expired temporary registration.

Replaced both front hubs. Piece of cake. While I was there I sound deadened the inner fenders and wheel well liners. Took out the road noise from the front of the car.

The boot split spraying grease on the hot exhaust, same as cv joints on independent suspension drive axles. So not that big a deal, but when it happens it's an "oh sh** did I just blow the motor, shouldn't be a cloud of smoke"

Bought new struts, and camber plates.

Adjusted the clutch on the 69, well actually took the clutch arm assembly apart and installed it properly and then adjusted it along with installing the spring correctly. Feels much better and shifts much better. Moved the 05 around a little on a jack so I can get the drivers seat out. It was too close to the work bench to open the door.

Nice! Do you think it'll perform better than the enclosed stock air box? I was going to hold off on getting new tune files until I've gone catless. I didn't know if it'd be worth it to get a tune just yet.

Everybody's so concerned on m6g about enclosed or open, despite that most of the open ones seal to the hood. I think any significant gains are going to be had in the tube diameter in the aftermarket ones. I went with the Roush because my tuner is familiar with them and the tuner should be asked for recommendations. You have to pay for the parts and install them, the tuner has to make them work.

This is the same cai that will be used on the Ford Performance power packs. My IAT's are elevated while in traffic but this heat doesnt help for that. I havent had a real chance to test it out. Once i get the ngauge mounted, ill datalog.

I was using the pedalmax which made my throttle response spectacular. I like the feel of keeping it with the tune but ive asked if i should ditch it.

My rev matching for down shifts is awesome.

I still cant spin my tires from a roll. Maybe these continental dws06's coupled with the 100 deg heat contributes to that.

I agree with that statement. The amount of airflow to be had in a CAI is the biggest determining factor as far as gains go, but as Ken stated, it's the DD part and the temps that come along with that, that has my main focus as of right now.

I drove without pedalmax today. Felt good so i will be selling if interested. It helped a lot without tune.
