Fully bolt on. According to MM, they tested their design against other designs welded on & found their design held up & performed better than the welded-on parts & if memory serves me, I think they guarantee these results. I also bought them due to the fact that these are the only relocation brackets made\sold that work w\ the OEM stock rear LCA's (I'm running the 13-14 OEM GT500 rear LCA's).

I can tell you this..........these brackets are very hefty build-wise, the picture doesn't do them justice. They're designed to fit into the existing LCA brackets exactly (the inner plates are notched to fit the notches in the 8.8's brackets).

I have EBC Yellow pads and they wear more in the rear than in the front, highest friction pads I had so far. I think I will try the Power Stop track pads next time (EBC have become insanely expensive in Germany).

Been doing some thinking bout this.............I'm wondering if this is due to the 09 GT's ABS module seeing more braking traction on the rear wheels (I have the 07-09 GT500 18" x 9.5" wheels shod w\ Conti Extreme Contact DWS06 295/35/18 tires w\ 11.6" W contact patch) vs the front wheels (have same wheels but had Conti Extreme Contact DWS06 255/40/18 tires w\ 10.04" W contact patch--OEM 07-09 GT500 width--most of this time.......recently upped front size using same tire but in 265/40/18 w\ 10.4" W contact patch) thus is modulating more braking power to the rear wheels using the smaller brake pads so accelerating wear on them, even though I have the 07-09 Stop Tech OEM GT500 front 4-piston "Brembo" calipers, 14" rotors & pads w\ a lot more braking area\force.......which could also cause the ABS module to shift even more braking power to the rear wheels as well. The car when braking doesn't pitch towards the front near as much as it did prior brake upgrade.........thus is also indicating that the rears thru the ABS module are actually applying more total braking power\force than the fronts. The rears are also where the engine TQ is being applied thus makes sense that more braking force is applied to the rear wheels.

Not that this is wrong but is actually working as it is designed to do thus, I just need to keep this in mind going forward to check the rear brakes more frequently (been putting more focus on the fronts since upgrade) than the fronts..........this makes the most sense to me.

I guess the old school brake proportional valve is now a fixed value in the ABS module. If you brake in normal city or highway driving condition the ABS F/R bias will stay at a constant value. If the tires starts to slip the brake fluid pressure will be changed for the specific tire.
I made temperature measurements from the brake discs after 2 miles city driving and found that the rear discs have higher temps than the front. Because I changed to the high friction EBC pads, I thought this is a side effect. (Motorcycles have low friction pads at the rear)
After your findings I think now that the rear brakes are simply under designed, not enough cooling, therefore the GT500 rotors are bigger.
With the OEM Akebono pads I had serious over heating problems at the rear brakes.

Yes, I bought them from the UK directly and now there is tariff on it and they do not allow to buy directly in the UK from Germany, one has to use the EBC Shop in Germany. The front pads have increased in price around +90% now, only for German customers. I do not support this kind of rip off.

I guess the old school brake proportional valve is now a fixed value in the ABS module. If you brake in normal city or highway driving condition the ABS F/R bias will stay at a constant value. If the tires starts to slip the brake fluid pressure will be changed for the specific tire.

Also take into account the TCS. Once I tuned my 3.5EB F150, and got massive wheelspin (even on 305/45-22 UHP summer tires), the rears wear A WHOLE LOT faster than front, due to the traction control system using the brakes...

What happens if you receive a package from an overseas friend? Is it checked for tariff application?

FYI: I have seen yesterday that my yellow Ford Racing bump stops (I highly recommend installing them) turned into brown-red. Are they a wear item and need to be replaced at some time?

PS: Just found the cause of it: I installed Kevlar based brake pads instead of semi-metallic and the dust is brown. The FR bump stop compared to the OEM rubber has some more open cell structure and the dust get trapped inside.

Don’t be afraid to RMA those near the end of the warranty. They can and will start peeling. Keep an eye out on the reverse light parasitic drain, the drivers side tends to stay on 24/7 dimly lit. Sometimes I unplug the drivers side if I’m going to be gone for more than a few days. I’ll post photos later. I’m on my 3rd pair, finally out of warranty after (8? 9?) years. I guess that’s not a terrible run.. but the parasitic drain was the biggest bummer on these. Nice look though

There are solutions to this, like splicing a resister on just the reverse lights but just haven’t bothered. Hasn’t been a huge issue. But definitely worth RMA near the end of the warranty period for a new set

Got the oil changed in my GT and the wife's Shelby, Fresh Amsoil 5w50 and new Motorcraft filter for both. Also new drain plugs for both, good thing I ordered them last time cuz mine rounded off big time.
The Shelby also got some fresh Amsoil transmission fluid, while mine got some fresh rear diff fluid.

Am I a fool for using the doorman steel plugs that won’t strip out the heads? I feel like it increases the likelihood of stripping out the pan threads though. Of course that won’t happen if I do my own changes

Got the new Jeg's fuel pump installed. 400lph of Made In China fuel delivery power.
Couldn't get the locking ring fully twisted back on, it just wouldn't click into final place. Ordered a tool off Amazon to hopefully help me lock it fully.
It's a little different than the stock pump, but the car runs and revs fine. Haven't driven it yet. And still need to get a new tune of course.
The last picture shows the jumper wires at the fuel pump driver module connector, so that when I'd turn the key, the pump would pump continuously, so that I would get as much of the fuel out of the tank as possible, to avoid spills during the swap. I had disconnected the fuel line at the pump and had a line going from it right into a 5-gallon gas can. This was per an awesome recommendation from somebody on here a few posts ago, thank you for that.

Got rear brake rotors & pads replaced today w\ Stop Tech '09 OEM GT500 Rear Brake kit ('09 GT500 rear rotors are same dia as '09 GT, don't know if the metallurgy is the same.......kinda hoping it is better, we'll see........rear brake pads are Stop Tech Evolution Z17 Ceramic pads for '09 OEM GT500 equivalent......these pads have the center cooling groove in them ala GT500 design--GT equivalent pads don't have this center cooling groove, solid pads.......07-09 GT500 & 05-10 GT use the same rear brake caliper\bracket thus rear brake pads will interchange) & reset EB ratchets. Checked fronts & saw that they still have approx 3\4 pad height (worn down approx 1\4) in 2-3 yrs time which is confirming that the ABS module is applying more braking power to the rear wheels (LR pads had 1/8" left & RR inner pad had 1\16" left & outer pad upper 1\3 section was metal to metal, lower 2/3 section was tapered to 1\32" left..........all these parts were initially installed at the same time w\ the Stop Tech 07-09 OEM GT500 Front BB upgrade).

Also installed my Maximum Motorsports 05-14 S197 Rear LCA Relocation brackets while doing the rear brakes.............very straight forward install--these brackets mate up & lock into the 8.8 axle's LCA brackets very snug & all supplied bolts fit the bracket holes very snug as well..........essentially have to perfectly line up the bolt holes for the bolts to slide thru. TQ'd all bracket bolts to 130 ft-lbs then TQ'd both L\R LCA bolts on loaded suspension to 130 ft-lbs. Checked LCA angle pre\post install.........LCA's are now running right at +1" pivot bolt height (front LCA chassis mount bolt height difference vs LCA axle bolt height from ground) in 1st hole........according to MM's chart, this puts the rear axle at 74% anti-squat--up from the OEM 08-09 Bullitt ride height of -0.5" pivot bolt height @ 5% anti-squat, so may have some roll oversteer tendency induced. Gonna be interesting as I didn't experience any wheel hop prior at the OEM heights............

We'll find out very soon..........................geometry is geometry.........

Picked all up then took her out on a short test drive to start bedding in the rear brake pads..........car drove fine--could really feel the difference in rear axle feel off bumps.......rear axle felt more planted\firmer but not harsh at all............felt really good, ride was very smooth as well.

Rear ride height didn't change at all............

Liking all so far............more to come.

PS--Sorry, didn't take any pictures.........intended to take pictures of finished install but forgot (more focused on arthritis acting up in both shoulder joints, hip joints & lower back, carpal tunnel in both wrists over time & needing to pick up\clean up after work was completed. Surprised that I had no gout flareups in my big toe joints this time), so once I recover from all this, I'll try to remember to take a couple of pics.

Yes, all this is now programmed into the ABS control module to execute & comms to PCM over a direct, dedicated HSCAN bus.

All senders has to declare the value and the type of good inside the package. As a friend you can declare this as a gift, but in any case the package will be opened and inspected. Sometimes by the customs itself, sometimes when you pic up the box at the customs in your local town. If they see new brake pads inside, they never accept this as gift, so you have to show them the invoice, or if you don't have one (if it is a gift) they take a look in typical stores on the internet.

So you can add 30% to the MSRP of US car price in Europe. If somebody ask why not many US cars are sold in Europe, that is part of the reason and a propaganda show that US cars are generally of bad quality.

Interesting, my 07 rear are smaller than the GT500 rotors, calipers are the same.

My EBC Yellow wear 1/4 in front and 1/3 in the rear at the same time. Disk also more in the rear.

I have a 11+ UCA laying around, it is longer but I don't know if the angle has also changed. (I have no torque wrench for the massive bolt under the seat). Does somebody knows if it is worth the effort to install?

Job wasn't hard at all. Parts that sucked until I figured out the how-to: draining a bunch of the fuel out so that I didn't spill gas all over the place when removing the pump, and unlocking and re-locking the pump metal ring that holds it down.

Have to be careful not to drop the tube that connects to the pump inside, or you'll be getting your hands in there fishing for it.

The lockdown ring was easy to reinstall once I got the right tool for the job:

I always drive my '13 GT with the Advancetrak off. Don't have any rear brake wear issues

Same thing on my wife's GT500, the traction control is turned off in the tune, and again the rear brakes are lasting a long time.

When I was a Ford service advisor I saw a lot of F150s and other cars that needed brake jobs in the rear first, and the traction control is usually to blame, applying the brakes when you don't even expect it to.

Solution: disable the TCS/Advancetrak.

The other day I went hunting for a rattle that developed in the rear. It didn't take long to find the exhaust rubbing on the panhard support. I installed all new exhaust a few years ago and it cleared then but I guess it sagged over time. I messed with it for a while and couldn't get the clearance, so I took it to the local muffle shop yesterday and they reshaped the pipes and hangers. Not only was the rattle gone, but the the change in NVH was amazing. I had no idea that the amount of vibration that was being transmitted into the body was so substantial. I suppose I had just gotten use to it. Anyway, the shop did a fantastic job and the car sounds so much better.
