damn, I'm old. i remember when a windshield was $100
It was $100 to replace the windshield on my 1st car back in '01, but I supplied the windshield (also $100, from a junkyard)

Don't think $300 is too bad for 25 yrs later (damn now I feel old too ) considering how much everythings gone up last couple years

The windshield itself was around 175. Labor was 150. Funny thing is I have owned 30 plus cars and trucks and it is the first time I have ever bought a new windshield. I am thinking of replacing the one in my 2004 F150 now seeing how nice a new windshield is. Here is the list of cars in order starting in 1973. I have never bought a new car.

Hell of a list!

I've owned 16 cars at last count and I've only had to put a windshield in my current car, my WRX I did actually buy new. 6 months into owning it. $500 for the glass, labor and the safety calibration for the sensors.. I was livid.

Thanks I grew up in the best of times. The prices I paid for those cars....
As an example I paid 700 for the 67 Mustang Fastback. It was a dark moss green 4 speed with a HiPo 289. Manual steering, fold down rear seat, full console. I traded it to a good friend for the 68 bug. Doh!

-Well I swapped my wheels.
-Adjusted my sway bars
-changed my serpentine belt
-replaced my broken left turn signal bulb after 6 months lol
-picked up some octane boosters
-thanked Lito for his services (yesterday)
-order some 4.10s (yesterday)
-debated ordering and switching from my ford racing k springs for some H&R race springs. But learned my bilsteins may not handle that damping @ those springs rates but I may just send it anyway for the time being

Just trying to prepare the car for a 4.5hr road trip this Friday night to compete in my local autox championship for the weekend and yeah…Think that’s about it

Oh and I ordered new front rotors (yesterday) cause mine are starting to crack and are getting pretty worn down after only a year or use

I wish I knew this thread existed. I have documented my build process here for my car. This weekend, I installed an AEM 3.5 bar map sensor so I can datalog it in HP Tuners. My fuel pressure sensor from Lodoller is in the mail so I will do that tonight after its arrival.

So guys, about windshields. Where do you get good glass for a classic car? I was sitting in my old '70 vert looking thru the old glass thinking I should replace it. I've been looking thru that old windshield since I was 16. That would be 2015. Ha! Actually 1977. Man I've seen a lot of life thru that glass.
I've replaced several windshields in the last 20 years. The replacement glass is never close to the quality of the original. What do you do about that?

Then I destroyed the hard work of all those good folks at the Ford Motor company, who were trying to imitate (tune) the iconic sound of Steve McQueen's 68 fastback movie car. In order to do so, I removed the baffle plate from the H-pipe. And now for the worst part, no change in sound! Oh no! Now, I've just secured a spot in Ford Hell.
:)

And Martin said: "Let there be flow" and there was a flow. And Martin saw that the flow was good, and He equalized the pressure in both banks, increasing torque and decreasing the drone.
Obviously the FoMoCo Hell is not the only one I have a spot booked in.

There is a restrictor in the H-connection? WTF... but, that could explain why you see some benefit when you change it to the x-pipe.

I took my 2024 to the dealer because of a noticeable "clunk" in the front going over any bump. Had to replace a front strut. All good now, and done under warranty.

That specific H pipe with MAC mufflers was the best sounding setup I ever had on an S197. First time I've actually seen that baffle though! I had read about it but never actually seen it or seen anyone mess with it!
