Figured the caption would get ya to look :)
So what do you guys think?
Went to a 150 shot and heres what happened. They melted pretty good, didnt they? Atleast they didnt break.
So do you think a bap is a good idea?Had a tune for the 75 and 100 shot.So I retarded timing (-2) 2 more degrees thru the rpm range.Any suggestions?

They are a stage colder plug.
I was running a 75 with great a/f tune.So I tried the 100 shot on the dyno(since thats what nthe tune was for) and it had good a/f also.

I ran the 75 a bunch, checked plugs and they were all good.Ran it on the street some more and all was still good.So I figured I'd try the 150 shot to bust the 10's,and I used the same tune for the 100 shot, but took 2 degrees out from2000-8000,which should have been good, but thats when the miss came in.Checked for codes several times and got none.Just a miss.So I ran it off the bottle and it went 12.69,12.71 withn no missing and the street/cam tune in it.Then Later that night,it went 12.73 then the last run was 12.93 and the missing was back.Checked for codes and got none.

So today I changed plugs, ran a 100 shot a few times on the street, checked plugs again and all is good.
Ran street/cam tune for a couple hours around town and all is good.

ZEX--Says with the 150 shot,I need ATLEAST a in-line pump to carry enough fuel.I figured since a few of my local friends, have been fine with 150 shot, that I would to.I guess with the cams/heads and other mods,I needed it.

So do you guys think that it didnt push enough fuel on the 150 shot and that could have caused it?
And what would make it burn 4 one side and only 2 on the other? The ones that were melted, were very loose, the other 2 were tight as when I put them in.
I guess I'll try the 100 shot to get me in the 10's.

You know,I picked up some gas from a guy down here.It was supposed to be 116,I had 3 gallons of 93 in the car so I added 5 gallons of the 116 to it.So it should have ben 107.xx.......You got me thinking now,I need to amke a call to him real quik.I'll report back in a minute.

Well I just got off the phone and he said his son gave me 100 octane. So actually I was running 97.....So I think that may have been part of the problem..//???

i think you need to upgrade the fuel pump or get a BAP for the 150 shot. i tried tuning for the 150 when i got my first tune but kept hitting the knock sensor. not enough fuel running for the 150. although psfracer said in another thread he was fine with the 125 shot. i'd definitely upgrade the fuel pump or at least get a BAP if i were you and trying the 150. let us know how you do. i need to check my plugs as well and see how they're looking. haven't done that in a while.

With nitrous, the plugs are always the first thing to go.

On the 150 shot I would:

Run 104+ octane
Gap the HT0 plugs at .032
Get a BAP or fuel pump upgrade
Datalog, watch your knock sensor activity, but usually you need back the timing off 6 degrees vs whatever you had it at without nitrous

The platinum plugs for n20 just plain suck. We really need an iridium plug when going with this much nitrous. Unfortunately, no one makes one for us yet.

"Q. What makes Iridium better?
A. Until recently, platinum was considered the best material to use on the top of an electrode because of its durability. However, Iridium is 6 times harder, 8 times stronger, and has a melting point 1200 degrees higher than platinum. Put that into a harsh environment such as an engine piston chamber, and you have a spark plug that can resist wear much better than platinum."

so we're good to run the 125 shot with a bit of race fuel with the stock pumps? i need to pull my ht0's and see what they look like. i really want to bump it up to the 125 shot but things like this get me thinking i should just wait and see what i gain with just the big and littles next time out. then go from there.

In regards to why you burned more on one side then the other, is it the same side you draw your fuel from for the wet shot?

PL-yeah the drivers side is where the fuel rail was tapped and had the 4 plugs burned on that side.

The shot is drawing too much fuel from the system and the pump can't keep up. That's most likely why you went lean much worse on that side.

Time for a pump upgrade most likely. You could go to a single Gt40 pump and should solve the problem.

Yeah, you're going to need a single BAP not sure you can wire the double BAP that way. You could call Kenne Bell and find out.

A fuel pump upgrade would probably be cheaper then buying a new bap (if you can't make that one work) and maybe a bit more reliable, that way your not just overclocking the existing pump.

Might run you from $100 to $150? Been a little while since I shopped for one! LOL

Like everyone said more pump( whether it is BAP or gt500 fuel pump set up) I'm gonna go ahead and guess those were HTO's. How much timing are you running in your tune? I'd say less timing as well.

100 to 150 for a new fuel pump system?! No way Jose lol...GT500 fuel pump system runs between 650-700

GT500 system would be overkill for what he needs read my post! A SINGLE GT40 PUMP will solve the problem!

Jose!! LOL
