Does anybody have a bit of rake with their aftermarket seats?

I just came back from a short tip (2.5hr drive each way) and the rake started bothering me.

The back is lower than the front and would like to raise the back about 1"?

Any thoughts?

Maybe add some washers for a little lift?

This is probably "ok" if you are talking about a couple of relatively thin washers for fine tuning the angle of the seat, but I wouldn't make large adjustments with washers on bolts that are holding the seat to the car.

A stack of washers is going to introduce shearing force to the bolt in a crash. Reality is that the seats are the first and last line of defense in a wreck. Crush zone, seat belt, air bags, roll bar... none of these are going to make a difference once the seat is broken loose.

Plus the amount I want to raise I wouldn't have enought thread left on the rear bolts after washer.

You put Mitsubishi seats in a Ford, what did you think?

Getting a proper seat with correct mounting brackets is going to be proper solution.

Yes you're right, no argument about that, but though they are OEM Recaro, its is manufactured by Recaro and its the same model as the SR-11 seats.

In the next few days we're installing seats (both COBRA Imola and Suzuka), harness bars and harnesses into two more S197s, so we're reverse engineering the chassis-to-seat brackets in my 2011 GT and making some improvements... then making production fixtures for these so we can make production runs of these exact brackets, like we did on the BMW E36 this week. Why? Because there's a lot more to installing a seat than buying the seat + slider + side brackets.
Do you have any updates about this bracket design? When do you think it would be available? I didn't see anything on your website.

Also, would mounting both the anti-submarine and lap-belt anchors to the seat bracket really be safe? I don't see much of a problem with the anti-submarine straps, but I'd think you wouldn't want to have the lap belt load go to the seat mounting points since it will be quite significant in a collision. I know the OEM buckle attaches to the seat bracket, but the other two points are located elsewhere. If I'm using wrap-around shoulder belts mounted to a 4-point rollbar, is that a concern?

Thanks.

The lap belts on my Vorshlag bracket both mount to the car, not the seat bracket, just fyi.
