As some of you know I just recently bought a Saleen 302 stroker with 9.5cr. Now I don't plan on running huge numbers but do plan on going with FI. Just rather build the motor first and have some fun with it along the way. I'll be buying parts over the course of next yr due to being stationed in Korea. So my question is what option should I go with stated below.....

1.) Stroker, Heads, Cams

2.) Stroker, stock heads, current nsr cams

3.) Stroker, stock heads, upgraded cams

As long as you don't want crazy power I'd say option 2. You should be able to 500whp safely on pump gas with the reliability of the stock drivetrain...

1.) Stroker, Heads, Cams BEST

2.) Stroker, stock heads, current nsr cams Not bad

3.) Stroker, stock heads, upgraded cams pointless

For the huge reason; you'd be running a bottom end at high rpm to use the cams w/ STOCK VALVE TRAIN; dont wanna ruine new bottom end

I would like to do heads/cams but don't think its worth it. Just don't know how long it'll take me to save up for the s/c. So a fully built motor should hold me over for awhile til I get the s/c.

I'd say get the internal work done first, stay low boost until you figure out what kind of FI you want, then start looking into upgraded heads/valves/springs and the likes. I think it would be better to try and get the head work done on your car when you know what kind of FI you're throwing at it, rather than having good heads that could later on not even be specific to, or could be more than you'd need for your build hence pissing money into the wind when say you could have gotten stage 2 BBR heads instead of stage 3 Livernios heads. (just throwing an example out there. you get me?)

I'd say what he said. Pick an exact power level, because all your mods will come accordingly.

Exactly .....Thats the reason I stated #2 IIRC he said a while back he wanted to have a good reliable car in the 500 range .... could be mistaking him though ..... IMO if your just looking for a good 500(ish) hp car do bottom end and leave the top stock put that money toward suspension/tires lol

Add some fuel upgrades, a little tranny work depending on which you've got and some rear end and your ready to go. I'm sure Beau could tell you about building things big, and then all the little things breaking :chairfall:  all in good fun man.

Look at Don W, still running stock cams at his power level. Heads and cams aren't a must, I've just always like matching the two to compliment the motor.

I'm leaning towards the Roush TVS s/c. Would like to get some bigger thumpity cams. Thinking BBR stage II cams w/ upgraded valvetrain if I decide to stick with stock heads.

hahahahaha sad part is it's true lol ....

just make sure your suspension/drivetrain can handle whatever level you decide on going with ( especially if you plan on tracking it )

Figure out your desired level then start pm'ing people on here with similar levels they will help you out more than you know , believe me I have pm'd more than my share on here myself lol

I'm not really familiar with the kit but I know it comes with it's own fuel rails. Just swap your cams and sell yours now, you'll make up at least half of your money and get what your after.

500ish will be good for me. It won't be tracked all of next yr due to being stationed in Korea and can't take my vehicle and in Jan '11 I'll be stationed in Germany with Scramblr and another member on here. They said the track opens once a month for a few months only and its not that great of a track. So it won't be tracked alot.

Eaglestoker the Roush TVS kit comes with different fuel rails, 52lb injectors, and GT500 TB

Suspension wheels and tires are a good idea, since the stock heads aren't bad, but for what it looks like you're going into, keep you options open for now.
