I had a 347 in a 1965 Mustang 2+2 and it smoked and a bunch of buddies with Foxs all have the same issue. No problem with the motors, just burn a little bit of oil.

347s are known to smoke. I don't really know if it's normal without seeing it.
very true they smoke because the stroke is so long that the oil control ringlands are in the wristpin area.

A little oil, a very small amount of oil sure, any high performance motor will. Not enough to make it smoke. The early 347 kits had a faulty piston design, the oil ring now has a support to keep it from flexing.

If you think the stroke is long, do the math on a 383 Chevy, much more extreme, no problems with thousands out there. This is a VERY old myth.

How do the plugs look? The smoke could be the car running way rich or an ignition problem.
