Those of you in the 450 rwhp range thinking about more for your DD, think twice. There's a huge drop-off in driveability, at least in my experience.

WHat kind of issues? I wouldn't think having a centri would affect driveability that much.

drive mine every chance I get. I don't commute [work from home] but if the sun is out and there is a show and shine or cruise I'm there . Centri makes it very streetable, and lots of fun with a blip of the loud pedal.

Was 600 now its 125rwhp... Bought my self a ford fiesta. I live 50 miles away from work and have to drive country roads to get there so rock chips are a bitch. Maybe if I live closer to work I will every other day drive my stang. I hope to see 700+ out of it.

Agree...kind of. The 06 drives fine. It's when you have to be careful not to break the back end loose at 60mph that it gets to be not so fun. The 07 with the Saleen is hands down more fun to drive everyday because I never have to worry about it getting away from me.

Mine is a SDD ... Sunny Day Driver. I use it for work and errands as long as it isn't raining or rain forecast.

How many of you drive your 450+ HP cars through even snow?

So far, my 07 has been through 4 winters, where it's made 400+ RWHP. Driveability is awesome. Just swap over the snow tires in winter, and the summer tires the rest of the seasons.

I can see a TS or Roots car having driveability issues, since boost is instant, and is easily hit at low RPM's. Centri blowers drive like a stock GT until you start to hit boost in the higher RPM's.

I did for two weeks in December while rebuilding the transfer case and both diffs on my truck. But never again with 668rwhp and snow. You sir are a brave soul.

Haha.

It's not that bad man. Some blizzaks, careful driving, it's cake.

I drove my slammed cobra through winter a little bit, and that was a challenge. Even my Mach one was driven in that blizzard we had several months back. It was hard, but, I've never been stuck in any of my stangs.

If I could afford a DD, I'd have one for sure man.

Not an S197, but I DD mine. It's around 570/540 right now and I'm on the hunt for a smaller blower pulley. I made a new "friend" recently at my kids' school because he likes my car so much and wants one when he gets older.

I'm with Pete, stock heads and cams and twin turbo's is the best street ride I can imagine. It drives and sound just like stock with some after market mufflers until I get into boost then it spools very quickly and just goes. It is my DD but I don't take it out in the rain in the summer, DR's, and I don't drive it in the snow. I do drive it all winter, with my winter set of wheels and tires, just not when it snows. Luckily we don't get much snow in the winter here.

I drove this car before the blower in the snow a couple times and it wasnt bad, it would be a little tricky with the PD blower for sure. The traction control works pretty well on these, I drive in the rain fairly often and the TC shuts the whole thing down pretty quick if I go a little too far on the throttle. I would try it only if I had to on all season or snow tires, the F1 goodyears wouldnt work in the snow on a stock pinto :)

I drive mine every day, it gets the best fuel mileage of all the cars I own right now and its plain enough where people dont pay any attention to it if I park it at wal mart..

My car serves as a DD during the spring, summer and fall. Drivability is basically like stock until you get into boost. I drive calmly most of the time, I don't see much boost on the street anymore.

I DD my 471hp car. I've put 13k miles on the turbo since last aug (10 months). I haven't had it in the snow yet as I had a DD this past winter before I left my gf. I look at it like this: I love my car and love having the power all the time. I hate driving cars that aren't it. I did like having it clean all the time but I don't have the cash flow to not have it as a DD. I'll suck it up and hope to get another set of tires and wheels this winter for it or sell my bike and get a lil WRX or 2.0RS.

Stock as a rock 315hp but it's daily. Although now I'm gonna be splitting time between it and the F1. But both will be driven regularly regardless of weather and what mods I do to them both...
