^ very true about big power NA motors...
I was talking about some of the supercharged cars...

I don't think everyone has been as lucky as you with their turbo:)

Obviously! I bolted that shit on and went to town at the track! LOL I have had ZERO issue with my cheap, POS turbo/turbo kit. I'll find it really funny when/IF I get done with the car this time around to see what I can bang out of it with a little more power and a lot less weight.

As previously stated they all have their positives and negatives. Turbo's, centri's, NOS and PD' blowers. To the OP you need to pick a budget and find what fits that budget and then determine what type best fits your needs. The statements of "I like what I have" are not very helpful. Most people like what they have because they haven't had anything else, myself include. The trick is to find someone that has had different ones and get their honest feedback on which one they liked and why.

But at the end of the day can you really go wrong with any? No matter which you choose it'll make a big difference and I'm sure it'll put a smile on your face.

Not cheerleading in any way.. but Whipple if I recall also has the 100,000 mile oil change interval. Mine is somewhere north of 30,000 miles right now and nothing has ever been done to it. I don't know that Whipple goes through quite the same OE durability testing as the TVS but they seem pretty durable from here.

I've never seen one make it past 25K miles without needing a rebuild.

The M90 was designed originally for a 3.8L V-6 with crappy flowing heads. When applied to a a 4.6L V-8 with great flowing heads it's simply not the right tool for the job.

Yes, "leaned on" the M90 will make about 400hp on a 4.6L 3v. But along with that comes a lot of parasitic loss and high IAT's because it is way out of its efficiency range.

Is a M90 better than no blower at all? Sure is. Does it hold a candle to the other options out there that are just getting started at 400hp. Not even close.

All too true. How are you supposed to take blower advice from someone who has only ever had one blower? Of course they are all "good".

It would be like talking advice from someone who only got laid once. Of course it was great. But without something to compare it to how could they know how great it was?

I'm on my 4th blower now. The M90 isn't even in the top 5 of the current power adders for the S197. Just so many better options out there.

So everyone who has only owned one blower is retarded?
And their advice is useless.
Nice touch.

Experience is definitely nice to have but I'm pretty sure all of us can read and for those of us who have been around for awhile have sure as shit taken advice from others over the years.

Dude, I don't believe he was saying that at all. In fact it seems like your just continuing to pick a fight here.

But in case you were actually being genuine in that statement I believe that point is that yes if you only own one blower you can give advice on your own experience and satisfaction and that does hold value. But speaking for myself I would tell you that the DOB kit I have is the best one, but I have no experience with any other kit to really compare it to. If I were to say that the DOB kit I have now is the best one and I've had 3 different ones prior to owning that kit which opinion would you feel provided the most value?

O.K. I won't be picking any fights.
And I did just look at the advertised pricing of some of the standard kits out there.
And they are Fucking ridiculously expensive.
Over $6K for some off these units.
Do not like.

FWIW, I told the wife if we ever put a blower on her car it's going to be a Whipple. Being a heavy vert it can use the torque hit.

As for my experience, yeah my car has a centri and that's what the whole set up is built around. But I've driven stock eaton, ported eaton, Whipples, and KB's. The only thing left is a turbo.

I just want to chime in here.

I've been running the E-force for about 30K miles and I've never had a lick of trouble with it mechanically. It dyno'd 400rwtq/406rwhp @ 5psi on 91 with a conservative tune. I ran it that way for quite a while and then switched out to the 8psi pulley. I don't know how much HP it actually makes @8psi since it was remote tuned by passing datalogs back and forth between me and Brenspeed. They estimate it to be around 440-460 rwhp. I know I don't want to push it any further on the stock bottom end.

What I can tell you about the blower is that it is a TVS and it makes lots of torque down low that hits like a brick. The fit and finish is OEM quality to be sure and it's whisper quiet which makes for a super sleeper setup... but I wouldn't trust that canned tune they send out with it for all the gold in Ft. Knox.

The heat soak can become an issue depending on what you're doing with it. Driving around town and giving it the occasional stoplight romp, it will consistently keep IAT's within 15-20 degrees of ambient air. I'm sure it would do pretty good drag racing too. (I don't drag race so I don't know)

However, running an autocross in the middle of July out on an airport tarmac sprawling across the Arizona desert floor..... it's gonna heat soak, and fast. It took me about three passes to get the IATs up into the 190's doing this on the 5psi setup... 8psi would be even worse.. I always switch back to 5psi for this.

About the DOB debate going on. I will say as much as this. I've talked to Jason a few times on the phone hashing out ideas about how to keep my heat soak in check using my own setup and if there is one thing he is OCD about it would be cooling and finding creative ways to keep IATs to a minimum. That's his bag.. If the DOB setup had been available at the time I did my supercharger I would be running it. Not to say that I regret the E-force decision.... I don't. It's a very high quality piece (and it should be for the price it commands)... but if I were spending the money over again, it would be a DOB all the way.

Just my .02
