Ok so talking to a few guys as of lately and kept mentioning this thread but I relized I havn't posted on it in forever.
For all the guys telling me I should of bought a 2011.... you have to relize the car it's Self has all the money tied into it. I spent alot of time with this car and to be honest people have offered to buy it countless times at the track. I would have to be crazy to sell this car, after I all I have been through. As other members already mentioned my main reasons for doing the swap. Little back ground from this past season.
After florida I did the rear end , shortened it by 1" on each side put the rear drag brakes on. Upr adjustable perches with qa1 springs. I fought a bunch of stupid issues. I was ither bogging the car or spinning. I was hitting 10.9-11.0's most of the weekends but I felt the clutch was on it's way out. I bought a ACT set up with lightweight flywheel. Long story short I had to pull the trans out 4 times (the clutch would not disengage under full load) The clutch fingers were going so far in they were touching the Disc. In the end it was all junk.... finally I said screw it.. stock flywheel and dual friction. First pass off the trailer 10.97. I am very happy with the dual friction! I finally started getting the hang of the car near the end of the season best of 10.85 @ 124 spinning to a 1.50 sixty foot.
I feel the 3.35 first gear in the 3650 is hurting me on the 26x10 Tires. I learned alot this season which is only going to help next year. Sooooooooooooo the plan. I need a Trans... my 3650 is getting notchy at high rpm and it's making me hold the clutch in a bit longer inbetween gears causing me to loose time. This winter I want to put a Face plated TKO 600. This will require a bunch of parts that add to the cost... I will have a 5th gear still so I can still street drive the car. I feel this will make a huge gain for the car. I will be putting an alum flywheel in it at the same time to knock 8lbs off the crank will make a huge differnce.
I was going to tear into the motor but I still have to do some more testing with the stock long block. I feel mid 10's is hiding in there. I did find some more mid range power with the vct aswell.
Here are some shots through out the season
Shitty pic but one of the best Launches I had with the car, had 2nd gear issues in the air
Even more reason for the new trans
Holeshot messed up on my rear wheels. Suppose to be all black but sent the barrels polished. Since I was out with the car everyweekend I had to drill them and get racing. I will switch them out this winter to all black. These are now 6.5 BS with no spacer (because of the drag brakes)
Street Trim
My Best friends Novi 2200'd GT (11.1's on Drag radials over 3500lbs stock bottom end stock heads 580 at the wheels)
