looking to make the switch soon. buddy of mine is a dealer. leaning toward the signature series (5w)

anyone running amsoil around here? thoughts, opinions?
I use to would have used Amsoil. I've recently decided I would never use Amsoil. Mostly because of the way they are currently using misleading internet statements claiming OEMs will warranty products with Amsoil in the crankcase! Some Amsoil products meet OEM specs. others don't. If you destroy a $15,000 GT500 engine with Amsoil in the crankcase Ford is not going to warranty it unless you spend the money and time forcing them to prove the oil didn’t cause the failure!

What amazes me most is how embarrassed Internet Amsoil Salespeople are about their product! Stating how great Amsoil is and that they use Amsoil, then out right lying about being an Amsoil Dealer! One has penetrated a site I use to go to and got the owner to go along with them! SCHILLING it’s the lowest form of advertizing!!

If you read the msds it states less than 3% highly refined mineral oil.

I find it hard to believe you didn't see that.
He is an Amsoil Dealer. Put him on your ignore list!

I blew the warranty on my GT500 a month after I got it with about 1,000 miles on it! I wouldn't use Amsoil if you gave it to me!

Troy is a LIAR and you Know it!

I can post the proof and you konw it!
Who the fuck are you, with 5 posts, to come on this forum and call people liars? I have used Amsoil for many years in several different cars and have nothing but great success with their products. Back when I was racing heavy I was a dealer and used their products exclusively. You have your opinion but don't try and shove it down our throats!!!!

You assume this is the only website in existence!

I called him a LIAR because that is exactly what he did!

I think Amsoil is just as good as any other oil out there! It is just no better!

I’m not surprised you have had great success with any oil. The oil is rarely the cause of Engine Failure even a bad oil will lube the internals of an engine.

Not attempting to shove anything down your throat.

Just stating My Experience with an Amsoil Dealer!!

Man what a fucktard you are. Actually Amsoil is better. Does everyone need the added protection and lower heat benefits it provides? The answer to that question would be no. I run the motorcycle 20w50 oil they offer in my Harley and it lowered the head temps by 19 degrees over the Harley brand full synthetic. So yes it is better than most other so called full synthetic oils out there.

Ask Troy if Amsoil is willing to do an actual scientific test to see if Amsoil is better then say Motorcraft, Mobil 1, Pennzoil, and Quaker State?!

My guess is, no they are not willing to do an Actual Test!

Test would be as follows

5 totally stock GT500s sets each with all 5 brands of oil

Total of 25 cars, over 15,000 miles each!

This test would cost Amsoil no more then $60,000!

3 oil changes per vehicle @ $100.00 and 6 UOAs 3 at blackstone and 3 at Amsoil @ $25.00 each is only $9,375.00 You would actually have to have a complete second set just in case some cars didn’t make it through the entire test because of Crash, Sold, Mods whatever. Then Amsoil could pay the owner of the cars that were used for the test $1,000.00 at the end!

Why don't you offer to split those costs?

Troy is 'Unleashedbeast'. MD is a crusader against Amsoil and Troy. He's done this on every mustang forum for the most part.

I'm not a Crusader against Amsoil. I like the truth, I don't like Liars. If Troy would have told the truth when asked about his Relationship with oil companies I wouldn't doubt everything he states. He didn't, his conclusions are based on a very small hand picked set of UOAs. They are not based scientific observations! BTW I was on most of these Mustang Forums long before Troy even thought about selling Amsoil on them!

How is Troy affilitated with Amsoil? What did he do to piss off MD?
Troy is an Amsoil Dealer. He lied when I asked about his affiliations with oil companies!

I'm not the one making claims that one oil is better then another to sell Motor Oil.

Who is Troy? And who is mobeydick that is stirring the pot about all of this? Is he on other forums and has started similiar stuff?
I've never started anything about Troy or Oil for that matter. I have asked some questions and was lied to by Troy. He then made some claims that are not backed up by reasonable observations! I've called that to everyone’s attention!

Your tactics hurt your cause

Greg - Troy is a dealer for Amsoil. I've not seen him try to directly sell to anyone, in fact, he promotes the dealer pricing. Make up your own mind.

Mobey asked me if I worked for Amsoil, I said NO. Independent dealers are not employees of Amsoil, and yes, I promote everyone to buy at dealer cost. I'm not in this as a job, this is my hobby, and love of cars.

The UOAs used to examine all different lubricants used in the GT500 are not hand picked, I have every GT500 UOA that has been posted on the internet. In fact, I encourage everyone to supply a UOA of their current fill at the time of change. I want more UOAs. Not one UOA of a Shelby GT500 under 10,000 miles has matched the UOAs of Amsoil 10W-40 or 20W-50 in metal wear. None of the UOAs (regardless of unit miles) have matched my UOAs when shearing and ZDDP are looked at.

Oh, and Mobey....I have a LOT of cooling mods, and drive it like a rental car. :thumb2:
