I have a few friends who have street driven 1000+ hp cars. They are grin machines.

Like someone needs 2000 hp on the street?

Again.....usable on the street? When would you need to apply 1000 hp to the tires on a street car?

I was being a smart ass with that comment. Kind of hard to get that across on the net I guess.

So you dont want a Pro-mod daily driver?

Not really, no. Pretty much a waste of hardware in my book. 600-ish is preferable for a street car. Plenty of 9 second-capable cars running around with that amount of power.

I'd prefer to use 2000 hp in the right chassis on the right track to produce the right numbers.

Got a message back about this kit. It is about ready for shipping however they said nothing about the price.

Not sure if it will be that street-able. 16.1 to 1 compression. I think that would require 110 octane.

The only piston option they offer is going to be 16:1?

They must have this kit geared towards all out race motors.

Ive seen 14:1 on 93 octane (not a mod motor though), so Im not so sure 110 would be required, but no, I doubt it would be feasible on pump gas.

The cams play a big role in how much compression you can run, if you have a lot of overlap that high static compression bleeds off. Some sportbikes have CR in excess for 12:1 and can still run on 87 octane.

There is one company that displayed a 5.0 stroked and bored to a 5.8 at SEMA. Livernois said they only went to a 306 because they couldn't find a company to make the crank they would need to go bigger.

Has it posted on their site yet? Last time I checked it wasn't on there.

Call me crazy, but I had an idea to swap it into a GT500 with twin turbos.

NO MORE,,,, I called Weisco and ask again about that short block and apparently the crank cost too much to build and balance so no 351 for the 5.0.

:horseshit: Why companies promote their products if they are not sure they can deliver..... Like Tremec :roflmao: T-56 Magnum

that would have been a bad ass engine

if you got the pocket for it I think Mike at L&M can build one similar.

That is what i was thinking. The laidy i talk to told me is just too expensive to balance the crank and do the build but i dont know maybe a special order and make it happen would work.

L&M is the one that build Evos engines right???

yes. He built mine as well as the motor in the SuperSnake that went 204.9mph at the Texas Mile last month. He can do the 351, but you better have a big ass budget
