In response to someone posting the MT review where the gt500 ran 11.6.

No zl1 has hit 11.6 or 11.8 or 11.7 lol, GM guys "said" they used stock tires to get 11.93 with a 1.6 60ft thats THE ONLY zl1 run in the 11 sec some and it was on DR's.

Id say a tad under rated. If my math is right at a %15 loss it puts out about 700 at the crank.

or the dyno is not properly calibrated.....


I would have expected more like 580-590 whp, (12%) the trans is improved as is the DS, so it should be a lower loss then the previous years


considering it was "certified at 662" vs the original 650 media kit numbers, I suspect it's not much under rated.

As much as I hate to say it, they never really showed the RWHP result (actual figures from the dyno). I will take the 5.0 magazine's results with a grain of salt. They have in the past put up numbers that were a little optimistic. I recall numbers they posted for the Livernois Stage 3 heads being out to lunch.

Needless to say I think this car is impressive & I can't wait to get mine.

Here are some pics from last night at Chateau Élan after they ran at Road Atlanta. The red Roush is a 575 rwhp local guy who stopped in. The GT500"s all had the same rear tires, you can't tell much from the picture

I'm amazed at the video quality. It's completely backwards from most. Usually you have this amazing video with the shittiest audio ever. This one has pretty nice audio but the video quality is so poor that I thought Evan Smith had a giant Santa belly for a few seconds.
